Standard response to any point that does not tow the party line 1. make a baseless accusation against poster or begin irrelevant whataboutery. 2. Declare the point / poster invalid based on this. 3. Begin personal abuse - west brit etc bad.monkey (USA) - Posts: 4653 - 28/01/2017 19:41:19 1949542 Link 3 |
west brit?..i merely referred to your history on the site...debate the points instead of being a troll http://www.hoganstand.com/forum/MessagePage.aspx?PageNumber=5&TopicID=37214 alano12 (Dublin) - Posts: 2208 - 28/01/2017 20:19:18 1949551 Link 0 |

If you think he's being childish try arguing your point cos the Rangers reference looks childish to me and has nothing at all to do with this thread.

Clearly a facetious remark... I hope you are only pretending not to understand a comparison between going to watch a match and going to watch a concert. bad.monkey (USA) - Posts: 4653 - 28/01/2017 20:58:40 1949568 Link 2 |
Quite a number of differences between a match and a concert especially with supporters being at a match who can often be loud and disruptive and usually far more kids present at matches...if you want to have a drink theres a place for it where others around you won't be disrupted

its a sporting event..you are there to watch the sport, not drink alano12 (Dublin) - Posts:1487 - 27/01/2017 18:15:34 1949291 By your logic , there would be no alcohol at concerts as you are there to watch the concert, not drink. Feel free to revert back to the script.. bad.monkey (USA) - Posts: 4653 - 28/01/2017 23:08:17 1949612 Link 1 |
and at a gaa/soccer match you can have a drink just you cant bring it your seat, simple stuff really but you seem to have a big issue with it...a concert and a match arent the same thing but sure continue making other comparisons if you wish

In my opinion, the other thread, "Will Leinster ever be competitive again?" is far more relevant to the subject title here than all this discussion on drink at sports matches. Lack of competition leads to loss of interest leads to people voting with their feet and finding new primary sporting loves. PoolSturgeon (Galway) - Posts: 2049 - 29/01/2017 11:17:16 1949685 Link 1 |
Sure if that was case Scottish premier league would be extinct as since 1985 only two teams have won it, that's 32 years. It's even gotten worse in last five years as there is now only one team competitive with Celtic currently some 19 points clear and having won every game except one draw in the league. Yet the crowds still turn out to watch hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 29/01/2017 13:10:40 1949720 Link 0 |
There's an awful lot of PR and misinformation spouted by the rugby crowd valley84 (Westmeath) - Posts: 1904 - 29/01/2017 14:25:07 1949735 Link 0 |
So the GAA don't promote their Leinster schools competitions as well as rugby promote theirs. But somehow you imply that rugby must be doing something wrong and that it's not a failing of the GAA not to promote their Leinster schools competition better?

And considering my past i would never make up anything like mental health issues. I have social anxiety and why would i lie about having booze spilt on me. There's an awful lot of PR and misinformation spouted by the rugby crowd Look at the promotion the schools rugby gets in Leinster! Despite the fact that schools GAA has 5/6 times more teams taking part and far more games valley84 (Westmeath) - Posts:1183 - 29/01/2017 14:25:07How is there 5 or 6 times more teams taking part in schools GAA when each year in Leinster and the other provinces the cups are tiered and you could theoretically enter the 4th tier competition and progress through the 3rd, 2nd to qualify for the main cups."]There are far more schools playing GAA than rugby, probably 5-6 times more The rugby do a good job of promoting it and the game seems to be a big thing in the schools that play it, with many of the kids who play giving up after leaving cert. The GAA are very poor at delivering news, self promotion or talking things up valley84 (Westmeath) - Posts: 1904 - 29/01/2017 20:06:15 1949869 Link 1 |
