Easy enough win for Meath without being too spectacular. Plenty of room for improvement from both teams. It was a bad night for football. Interesting reading over the predictions. Not too many tipping Meath and a lot of Roscommon posters tipping Down to hammer Meath. Had a good feeling Meath would win and I won nice few euro off the bookies. Good win for Meath in Newry last night, makes for an interesting final day. Fancy Galway to win today, but Roscommon to beat Westmeath on the final day to gain promotion. Pressure is on Down a bit now, they were poor last night and wouldn't put it past laois getting a win up there which would leave the door open for Cavan or Meath, neither of which have been that impressive. No stand out team in this division all fairly mediocre. Royalace (Meath) - Posts: 121 - 29/03/2015 08:55:58 1707484 Link 0 |
Its a strange feeling, Meath have been the better team in their last 3 games and managed to lose one draw one and win one , we really should have promotion achieved at this stage, one day we will actually convert all the chances we are creating, last night was a win in terrible conditions. I hope we haven't left promotion behind against inferior opponents royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 29/03/2015 09:05:56 1707487 Link 0 |
Credit to our lads last night, we outplayed Laois for a log time last night, but still fell behind going into last minute and with Div 3 staring us in the face what a goal from Bolton and a point from Paul Cribbin. We are still favourites to go down but we have given our selves a chance now. Defensively we were much improved and for the first time there seemed to be a real togetherness, hopefully that continues. Good win for Meath in Down, They look a far better team when they have Gillespie & Kevin Reilly on board. We are looking for the Rossies to do us a favour against Galway today, but last night was good for the heart if you are a lilywite. Great battling win from Kildare last night . Showed the determination that is required and I can seeing them beating Galway in Tuam next week . Saying that Laois were very very poor . They are so inconsistent .Apart from Donie Kingston they are have no one who can perform anywhere consistently . Poolbeg (USA) - Posts: 24 - 29/03/2015 10:45:11 1707539 Link 0 |
It's a real pity there were no TV cameras in Portlaoise last night for Emmet Bolton's goal. It was as good a goal as I have seen in years just when Kildare really needed it. It shows how far back Kildare have declined that we required 1-1 in injury time to put Laois away and put relagation off for another week but at least we have a chance now, albeit a slim one. beir_bua (Kildare) - Posts: 746 - 29/03/2015 10:46:30 1707540 Link 0 |

Again and it pains me to say it but we might just miss out on promotion again thanks to throwing away a win (against Laois this time) but then again we may not even beat Cavan, they are a very defensive team and I just hope we've learned how to deal with that style. Two wins for the rossies would guarantee laois survival, so that's who we will be cheering for. Thrilling game in portlaoise last night. Malonemagic (Laois) - Posts: 803 - 29/03/2015 11:18:53 1707563 Link 0 |
I was one of the few who tipped a Meath win.It wasnt Kerry they were playing after all.Down are average.Personally ive always liked Meath and would like to see them get promoted.Always respected their manly style of play. cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 29/03/2015 11:22:28 1707567 Link 0 |

Looks like Roscommon and Down for promotion, theirs to loose. Down will surely not be as poor as last night and Laois will be without Kingston, Roscommon should scrape past Westmeath seadog54 (Meath) - Posts: 2195 - 29/03/2015 12:05:49 1707599 Link 0 |
