Match Day Attendances 2015

Wow only 4k less at the munster hurling final than the leinster football . How things are changing .

And to answer your question, thurles only holds around 49k now and those extra tickets would all be for the terrace. You could see parts where there were only people on the barriers near the sides meaning that part of the terrace is only a 5th full or so. And other parts might only be 3/4's full but on the TV looks packed. In a stadium that holds 24k in the terraces that adds up to a lot.

Poor turnout from the Dubs today as it has been all year in the championship. Westmeath to their credit travelled in their droves and it was probably only 55-45 in Dublin's favour.

While many will argue its understandable, i think its a poor reflection on Dublin that only 45 odd thousand showed up for a Leinster Final.

id agree seany although the product hasnt been good lately at all...serious lack of challenges for the dubs in leinster..today was refreshing in that it was somewhat competitive while westmeath never looked like they had a chance of winning

6,639 at Clare - Waterford, Munster U21 Semi in Ennis last night.

Looked like an even bigger crowd. Maybe that figure doesn't include kids. Either way hat's a great attendance for an underage game.

Its easy understand why big crowds attend u21 hurling matches. Last night was no exception and was probably the best hurling match Ive seen this year at any grade.

Its not leading the way. We've had a bumper year in Munster...3 big attendences,31000 at limerick v Tipp, 43 at tipp v Waterford and potentially 40 again for kerry v cork in the Gaelic. plus 2 20 000 at earlier hurling rounds...Think clones can only hold 30 or so

Well not sure what the percentages are but well done to Munster too in that case because according to the naysayers attendances are falling all over the shop although they could never produce the stats to back up their outlandish claims.

Anyone got the attendances from the various u21 hurling matches?

Few cracking Matches recently. Clare v Limerick in the u21 munster final could potentially pull a massive crowd.

Big crowds for the provincial finals in despite the poor conditions in some parts -

23,196 Sligo Mayo - limited by the capacity of the Hyde
33,997 Monaghan Donegal
32k Cork Kerry replay

Looked like small crowds in Thurles and Salthill for the other games

Hyde Park should be able to hold more than 23,196. Looking at the terraces behind the goals there was plenty of room between people. Pitch in great condition yesterday so no complaints from me on the Hyde. Very easy to get in and out of.

looked like a pathetic crowd in salthill..predictably bad in thurles

Saw the space behind the goal alright but I heard the capacity was limited to just over 20k so I figured the health an safety brigade wouldn't allow any more in.

Only 4,600 in Salthill for the Derry game. Very poor turnout but the weather was shocking and there was little Derry support there. Still probably about 4,000 from Galway is really poor.
