HS isn't the only place I've noticed this but there are a lot of assertions made here as gospel truth wheras in actual fact there is very little to back them up.
It's a bit like the old saying "If you get name for rising early you can stay in bed till midday".

A couple of my favourites at the moment are.

1 Kerry are too old to win an All Ireland.

2 Donegal won't get anywhere if they have to go through the back door.

3 This present Mayo team have no bottle.

These statements may well turn out to be true by the end of the year but at this time there is no evidence whatever to back them up & yet they are repeated here day in day out as if they have been handed down by Moses!!

I could add 10 more about Donegal, & probably will, but what does everyone else think? What are your favourites?

'Galway will be in with a shout this year' seems to get wheeled out every year, regardless of what shape the team is actually in. Nothing against them, I like galway football and would like to see them back firing again as they play good football, but surely there should be some basis to this assessment? And surely the previous year, where the exact same thing is said and it doesnt come close to happening should be enough to not say the exact same thing again the following year!
