Don't think Simon is fast enough to play corner forward?

By average we're the youngest team in the Liam McCarthy.

A lot of opportunities is an exaggeration. He was flying at wing back before his injury this year.

Offaly would surely be very young too?

They would be the next closest but I think not quite as young as we are on average, although it would be close enough. At the beginning of the year Lee Chin was our only outfield player who was 30 or over I think. We had a good few championship starters between 21 and 23. The majority of Offalys team would be mid/late 20s, ( ciaran Burke, oisin Kelly, Ben Conneely, Cathal King, killian Sampson, Brian Duignam, Ross Ravenhill, Eoghan Cahill, david nally) although Jason Sampson and David King were born only a few months after Lee. Obviously the 2 Bourkes, Spain, Ravenhill, Mitchell and Screeney would be around the same age as Eoin Ryan, Conor Foley, Richie Lawlor, Cian Byrne, Patsy Molloy, Jack Redmond, Corey Byrne Dunbar, Darragh Carley, Sean Rowley, Simon Roche, Cillian Byrne. So yes, on reflection, probably pretty similar. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 17176 - 02/10/2025 10:33:58 2638230 Link 0 |
Michael Dundon, Dara Kehoe, Eoin Whelan, would all be around the same age as those younger Offaly players. David Codd, James Byrne, Niall Murphy, Charlie Mcguckin, Cathal Doyle, Conor Mahoney, Conall Clancy etc are all only around a year older, if any of them make the breakthrough next year.
