I see the Louth game is going to be either Aughrim or Dr Cullen Park depending on the result of the Wicklow v Carlow game.

My understanding is if Carlow win they play Dublin at home and we play in Aughrim or vice versa.

Carlow probably should shade it seeing as they're at home which means Aughrim. Looking forward to it now, Louth will be firm favourites but we've nothing to lose so give it a serious rattle.

Aughrim is a lovely ground too.

You'd have to think that on ( league) form, carlow should beat wicklow, but wicklow have put in some good championship performances in recent years.

Either way, it's a lot handier for us than, travelwise, than it is for louth.

Yep. Carlow Wicklow games can take on a life of their own, Im not sure form will have much influence on the result.

For me, paudie Hughes was our most consistent over the league campaign. Porter. Rossiter improved as the league progressed, D Furlong was immense in last 2 games. And Brooks was steady throughout & kicked very well.

Plenty of standouts in fairness. Brooks was good in goal. Dylan Furlong, Shane Doyle and Eoghan Nolan were excellent too, Sheehan was solid as usual. Niall and Paudie Hughes, Sean Nolan and Mark Rossiter. The 2 new additions were outstanding, Kehoe and Higgins. All the lads were very good in fairness.
But Coleman was probably the best for me overall.

Ye know what, the amount of times we get shovelled off to Thurles for hurling qualifiers despite the fact we are worst affected every time compared to every other county means I'll take the little win when its offered to us.

Bright opening half from our lads, very direct play rewarded with 2 goals. 1 point up, but Louth have some real quality players.

Hard luck to the lads, they put in a good performance. They were competitive in their games at least. Missing so many starters for the 3 games cost them wins Ive no doubt. Hopefully they can win the Andrew Corden Cup now.

Some of those games should have been in Nowlan Park.

Eoin Hughes and Cathal Kehoe are already on the Senior panel/team. Funge definitely. Darren Rossiter, Brian Ivers, Conor Shorthall probably. Maybe Donovan and Gethings too, and a few others might develop into Senior Footballers if they give it a really good go. Some of the fringe players who started against Louth showed great positivity also. The goals came about from some good runs made inside and direct early ball played forwards.
It has to be said that the emphasis being put on football skills, coachability and understanding different tactics, and athletic development, at underage is bearing fruit at u20 and Senior now.

Fitzharris from Cushinstown is a very good prospect as is Kenny from Castletown. Alex Carton and Brian Roban are others to keep an eye out for.

There's a few others who if they dont make eventual senior hurling panels when finished at u20 hurling and throw their lot in with the footballers that will be there or thereabouts

Roban has X factor for sure, and is a tidy hurler too. Fitzharris isnt a bad hurler either.
Not playing Football from minor up to u20 will have to stand against lads who are hurling u20 at Senior football in terms of understanding tactics, and athletic development, Hurling and Football need slightly different attributes to eachother.
