Wexford Football 2025

If Tara Rocks is consider Kilanerin then in Senior only the Shels and Bunclody are the only teams with no hurling interest left - not counting Junior B.
In Intermediate its St Marys Maudlintown and Inter A Bannow.
Will that make any difference - In senior it will definitely benefit the Shels and Bunclody but I cannot still see Bunclody getting past Castletown but may make it closer than people would have thought. St Marys never had the two code issue so not much help there and ultimately the Martins will be to strong - although St Marys do have a few nice young footballers, BB should also help them focus.
While clubs may do more training in one than the other, they are still playing and at risk of injury far more than the others.
By my numbers there are 45 clubs still involved in the Championship 12 Hurling only and 6 in Football, so 60% of the clubs left in are competing are in both Hurling and Football (incl relegation finals). It will be interesting to see the number post the next knockout rounds

Wexford will always be a proud duel county but running the Hurling and Football side by side - is it helping either of them. Ultimately clubs decide what they want but logically it wouldn't but that is just my opinion.

They had some impressive results in the group alright but I would still be very surprised if they won it. I don't think they have enough attacking threat, Feeney seems to be doing alot of the scoring for them, I think if a team can keep him relatively quiet it will go a long way to beating them. Hes some asset to have in relation to 2pt frees. Ruari O'Brien is also having a very good year

Cooke-Leonard, Fitzpatrick and Stokes all excellent prospects on the fringes of the Senior panel.

Interesting that bar Gusserane all the other group wins but history has shown its not always that way

What is the biggest chance of an upset - I think Kilanerin v CB - but it depends on if they have focused on keeping their hurling status. I don't think the Castletown game will be that wide either

Annes I cannot see losing now.

I think that was predictable when the draw was made? As you say though predictions don't always come true.

Great shooting from Gusserane, Rossiter was fantastic, hard to believe how poor GB were.

Yep gusserane were impressive but once again Glynn Barntown the great pretenders.

I expected the Annes to win but not by that much, I've heard they were really impressive and could Ballyhougue be dark horses yet? I was told by someone at the game that they were a lot better than the scoreline suggested and a couple of late goals flattered tge Fintans.

Fair play to Fethard and thats a blow to the Starlights, they seem to be struggling of late and not bringing same amount of players through. I was in the park for the minor football final and thats a mightily impressive Ballynestragh gaels team, a kilanerin lady said they haven't lost a championship game since the feile final! Thats some going and kilanerin could be about to dominate if they keep up what they're doing and get the players through.

Whatever has gone wrong with the Starlights its hard to say - when was the last time they had a presence in underage? Its not good for Football or the GAA in general, we need a strong presence in the towns.

They are in the minor premier shield final against the winners of St Josephs v St Martins. They were in division 1 at u14 Football also. so they arent doing too badly at underage football.
