Massive game for the footballers this sunday, im sure there was a very happy camp this week after saturdays win, hopefully all came through the week unscathed, nolan went off saturday but hopefully its only precautionary, id expect the same team starting again and subs coming in lookin to make good impacts again

Don't think Coleman and Higgins will be back but Scholesy might. Not sure about Cian Hughes. Kehoe who came on the last day made a decent first appearance, he's only 19 I think. Hope he gets another run off the bench.

Big game Sunday only stayed for 20 minutes on Saturday but was impressed. They were well able to take the 2 pointers think we got 3 in the first 20 minutes. Taught they looked sharp in fairness. If they can win Sunday be a big boost towards promotion there is some decent players there Malone's going forward in the new rules could be a big plus for us with porter more defensive and can cover

Great result today, well done lads. Unfortunately, a bout of flu meant that I couldn't travel. Any reports from anyone who did ?
S E Radio didn't cover the game despite having advertised their " live commentary" all week.

I also thought it was going to be on South East Radio. Is there some reason it wasn't? I listened online to Limerick 95 radio. Seems Limerick had wind in first half, but we clawed it back. New rules make it very hard to come back if there's a big wind. Half back like of Porter, Hughes and Malone were good, must be one of the best half back lines in the country.

I wouldn't get carried away though still. Limerick were division 3 last year, but as their commentators pointed out, they haven't won a football league game since the 27th of March 2022!!

great win, not an easy place to go to pick up points, its in our hands , other results going our way to like london beating wicklow and considering we have at least 2 strong players to come back

Listened to it up in Thurles on Limerick95 also. We seemed to boss the game, and win most of the primary possession. The Limerick lads thought Paudie Hughes was outstanding. We done to the team and management, promotion is still in our own hands!

Have nt had chance to go to any game yet well done to wexford once good start .
Do new rules work well for us .
My only concern is the level of fitness needed to play said rules . Where the game flows better from end to end can so called amateur players sustain that fior 70 min and maybe extra time too in knockout phases .
Whatever about jntercounty at club level the fitness level would gave to increase and the older players surely will retire earlier.
Will we see scenarios where teams will revert back to keep ball and try drain the energy out of other teams forwards by having them chase shadows.
Time will tell and I suppose the most astute tactical managers and coaches will set the template going firward when they find the right formula after the initial novelty .

I haven't access to GPS info but I'd be guessing some of the players are doing less running up and down the pitch. The 3 lads who have to stay in the attacking half, and their markers, especially. Keepers look like they will be doing way more running up and down on the other hand.

I guess so but I m just wondering how itcwill settle down. So many different scenarios will the 3 inside forwards and backs be rotated would msje sense. Will it alterctgd type of player picked . Your panel will become even more of an impact. Will traditional positions become extinct even more so than they are now . Yiur mid 7 need to super athletic good ball winners good ball players and excellent long range shooters.
Just curious as to how others on here think we will adapt and can we start climbing back up through the grades .
I do think there are some excellent footballers in the panel where we stand in the pecking order is open to debate like to think we could compete with can teaming div 3 and possibly bottom of div 2 .
Would nt you love to see players like mattie forde , ciaran lyng, pj banville red barry playing under those rules back in the day .

eamon fitzmaurice was at our game yesterday , he had an article in todays examiner about the game in lower divisions, he was impressed with wexford atacking play

Looks like we finally might get out of division 4. How long have Wexford been in that division for? Seems like a long time but I'd see us better than most of the teams in that division. You couldn't improve playing the likes of Waterford and London every year.

We have been there since 2019. Waterford have finished above us twice since then, and London once.

Yes we went up and got relegated straight away. Seems to be a big gulf between 3 and 4. Leitrim will go straight back down as could Sligo

Sligo went up 2 years ago, but I get your point. Leitrim were maybe a little lucky to go up last year, and lost players since, so I was kinda expecting them to struggle tbh. At the same time they have only played one of the best 3 teams in the division, based on recent underage success and div2 status, and have an excellent manager. Don't write them off just yet.
Sligo have only played the other 2 of the best 3 teams. Bit early to write them off either!

Cooke Leonard also. Scholesey was back in training a while back. Higgins should be back in the next week or 2.
