2 good semi finals. It's a decent competition and deserved better attendance.

The semi finals being plated at Croke Park probably needs looked at really.

1. Bring back the qualifiers for all counties missing out on provincial finals, seeded using league ranking.
2. Keep the Tailteann Cup, but in straight knockout format, for the counties knocked out during the qualifiers, with the Tailteann winner qualifying for the following year's All-Ireland 16.
3. Schedule the Tailteann semi-finals for Saturday, allowing the hurling quarter-finals on Sunday.

That won't happen again.

You've also said as thr semi finals where only last week most of them probably hadn't made any arrangements so moving it shouldn't matter to them. Did you not?

Despite myself and my better intentions, here I am to answer you again.

First let me suggest that to save us both any further trouble going forward, you this time consider what I actually say, and not what you only think I'm saying.

First - you claim 'fans of teams in the TC don't matter as there won't be that many of them'.

Not true. Again, what I suggested was that a switch in the days would probably have discommoded fewer TC football fans, than not switching the date has discommoded thousands of people in the Wexford hurling community. Not that it wouldn't have affected any, and not that they don't matter. It may have been the lesser of two evils, but even using that statement shows I acknowledge it would still have been an evil for some.

Second - 'probably hadn't made any arrangements so moving it shouldn't have mattered to them'.

Partly true. The fact that the four counties involved had only qualified for the semi-finals last weekend means by definition that none of the teams or supporters had any pre-existing arrangements for Dublin this weekend. A change would of course still have mattered to some, but not as much as if there were hotels booked or train tickets bought with a view to the match being on a different day.

You seem to have a real problem in differentiating between 'not as much' and 'not at all'.

This time, I really am done. Go and have the last word if you want it. Am sure it'll be as wrong as everything else you've posted here since here."
Pikeman, certainly you displayed a lot of patience in that dialogue!

The George Bernard Shaw quote comes to mind: " Never wrestle with a pig because you'll get dirty and besides, the pig likes it".

Whatever happens, after all the fuss from Sligo management only 10,000 turned up for the double header. Not even the Sligo supporters got behind this tournament and the senior hurling quarter finals get demoted for this nonsense. I hope they enjoyed today because that's not going to happen ever again.

So basically the Tommy Murphy Cup again? How did that work out?

It's a second tier competition. What drawing board would you go back to ? Are weaker teams not entitled to a day in Croker. All counties have bought into this come which is the most important statistic. There hasn't been much of a crowd at any Sam Maguire game yet. I would like to see a semi final played as a curtain raiser to maybe an All Ireland semi final. It's a brilliant competition

The TMC didn't offer a championship reward. The Tailteann winner would be guaranteed an All-Ireland place in the following year.

Why are so many people from Wexford so unset about the Tailteann Cup?

Similar crowd to the Division 3 and 4 finals? The Division 3 and 4 finals are fine as a Saturday double header. The Tailteann semi-finals just needs a similar Saturday double header.

The Sligo game was thoroughly enjoyable today and they were very unlucky not to win it. Despite being a man down they were still in the game until the death in extra time. Thery put up a good fight. A far cry from your own hurlers who threw in the towel early. Must be the reason ye are called the yellow belly's.
