Replying To BarneyGrant:  "I like Derry but no team which has lost three championship games ought to still be in it. Indeed, no team that has lost two ought to be in it, and said as much about our hurlers before Galway match when there was still a mathematical shout of getting third on basis of score difference.

One chance ought to be the limit."
Never a truer word ,once ya spilt n2 the t-cup and Sam maguire, it should b knock out ,with 1 replay and finish on day of replay,12 of the 16 teams will have been beaten once and deserve to go after that ,no more pointless group of 4 rubbish ,how can they not Learn from the hurling ,tip, waterford, galway all gone ,and see the crowds at them games

Wexford and Cork have lost 2 games in the hurling and are still in it. The GAA are better off with top 2 only or else the only Christy Ring format of a winners round and losers round after the first round.
Galway know the value of winning a group after last year. It'll be interesting to see how all teams target winning the group. It is supposed to be the carrot.

It's top secret

GAA refusing to decide, just in case you want to go to the game and might get accommodation for a half decent price

It's an absolute joke that the venues haven't been announced yet! I've no doubt the bank holiday is being used as an excuse..

They are a joke organisation… there is no reason this could not be announced a week ago… everyone knows the pairings… The GAA and the government are very similar…. they have the great ability to balls up everything…!!!!

What a joke still no dates and venues confirmed, the GAA looked like fools making the group draws before the Provincial finals, look even worse now.
No doubt RTE will show the games of their southern darlings live anyway.

All confirmed - Donegal Vs Clare in Castlebar 3pm on Saturday. Not on TV or GAAGO

Not showing the Rossies vs Cavan either. Straight knockout game. Should be on some sort of platform.

Should the final games in each group not be played at the same time? that's the way it is in other codes when the group stages are ending.
Suppose there's more money spacing them out from tv and gate receipts, back to that again, grab all you can.

I thought no county was allowed to play 2 games at same venue in group stage,or did I misread it ?

I think they have to be at the same time if the result of either game impacts the finishing position of the other two teams playing. Some games won't affect other teams league position in the same group.Only thinking that now, no real clue.

I'd say you have more of a clue than the people behind organising this from what I can see.

Galway v Armagh on two wins each has no impact on Derry v Westmeath chasing their first win. Same for Dublin v Mayo and Roscommon v Cavan.

You misread it all right. The stipulation is that each county plays one home game, one away game, and one at a netural venue.

So nothing wrong with Mayo having already played in Dr Hyde Park when taking on Roscommon there (i.e. a home game for Roscommon), and now heading there again to take on Dublin (i.e. neutral venue).

No you just shouldn't be allowed play your home game and "neutral" game in the same venue. It's not that hard understand why if you've half a brain
