Are you implying Gareth McKindless doesn't have the hand, foot, eye coordination to know when the ball is gone and normally attempts to kick a ball in that fashion. His actions were deliberate and his injury self inflicted in my opinion. He's a reckless/dangerous player when he goes to ground he alway throws his studs and his feet into the air in the direction of an opponent. Just as he did yesterday even after he missed his goal chance, that is not a natural motion and there is no need for his second motion on the ground. No on falls like that...... But perhaps you're right and he has some sort of coordination problem! On those suggesting he should get a football all star. It's called football, McKindless is a runner. If he had feet and was able to kick a ball he'd have had about 3 points to his name yesterday in addition to the scuffed shot that trickled over the line for his goal. oso (Antrim) - Posts: 168 - 17/07/2023 09:19:48 2494983 Link 2 |
Ridiculous comment. How did yer pants fare out in the 2020 semi-final? I'd say even the best box of Daz couldn't help you.

An embarrassing post from the Antrim person. Sean O Se was the one utterly reckless and cynical as Kerry men tend to be. O Se's actions were totally wrong Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 2139 - 17/07/2023 10:17:14 2495003 Link 1 |
Anyone who thinks Shane Ryan was undeserving of at least a yellow card is clueless about the rules. He was reckless and totally wrong. Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 2139 - 17/07/2023 10:19:32 2495006 Link 3 |
Cheap shot. We as Cavan men are in a substantial glass house when it comes to talking about soiling it,

Are you stating that based on what appears to be your dislike for "kerry men" in general or based on the actual incident that occurred in croke Park yesterday? No one is denying Sean O'shea was being cynical or trying to slow the game up, but you have literally just condoned the actions of a player who deliberately in that instant tried to hurt an opposition player. That's the only "embarassing" thing here. oso (Antrim) - Posts: 168 - 17/07/2023 10:36:20 2495015 Link 0 |
Seemingly a lot of ye have never kicked a fresh air shot in your lives. If you did you'd understand the real power that goes into a kick. Hitting the ball controls the power of the kick so when there is no ball the action becomes uncontrolled. ponger (Cavan) - Posts: 550 - 17/07/2023 10:41:29 2495021 Link 0 |
Bad luck to our neighbours Derry. They ticked so many boxes yesterday but ultimately just came up a little bit short. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9754 - 17/07/2023 10:54:44 2495033 Link 1 |
In that instance, there was more onus on McGuigan to protect himself. He could've avoided the collision. Ryan couldn't.

Yep, they had the chances, just didn't take them. They just didn't have the composure to work scores when needed. Do you remember when the Derry keeper played a lovely pass into one of the forwards only for his shot to be blocked I think. Was a mark available to him there? I was sure it was but maybe not. A great performance and they left everything out on the field. Kerry very lucky they have David Clifford as that game was out of sight without him. I would fancy the Dubs in the final to put the wrong of last years semi to right. No Con or Mannion I think were the grains of rice that tipped the scales that day.

Total nonsense. You only have to look at Ryan's eyes to see that he knew exactly what he was doing in taking the man out. It was a Harold Schumacher type tackle. Dangerous and deliberate.

One thing I noticed from yesterday and it was not even talked about. Shane McGuigan (I think) was dragged down as he was approaching the square. A free was given. However, we were told earlier in the year when Kerry got a penalty against Cork, that a deliberate cynical foul in that situation is a penalty and black card. Commiserations to Derry. I had seen the QF v Cork live and it was a really poor game. but yesterday , that was a super performance. Hard defeat to take, I am sure it is very raw today. Cbar (Mayo) - Posts: 351 - 17/07/2023 11:19:55 2495048 Link 0 |
Brilliant game of football, credit to both sides. We almost had 2 division 2 sides in the final. suckvalleypaddy (Galway) - Posts: 1732 - 17/07/2023 11:27:29 2495051 Link 1 |
McKinlass did nothing wrong, McQuillan adjudicated that, correctly, O Se was wrong. If you can't see that then read the rules. Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 2139 - 17/07/2023 11:33:44 2495053 Link 0 |
Derry left this one behind them. Moyle (Tipperary) - Posts: 90 - 17/07/2023 11:34:47 2495054 Link 1 |
It is nonsense to compare it to Schumacher. Battitson had just tried to score when Schumacher took him out. In this case Shane Ryan had the ball. To catch any ball your eyes have to be on it. Genuine foul play needs to be dealt with. This is not the case here.

I know people talk about goals winning matches but handy points keep the scoreboard ticking over and that's where the 3 Ulster teams fell short. As for Clifford, he is and will be the difference for years. Unmarkable when he is on form, every county should have one..

Great game best so far this year great to see Derry have transitioned on from the negative football they played last year and have now developed into a quality side were much the better team yesterday and lost the game for two reasons inexperience which lead to 3 bad wides in a row in the second half and not calling a mark and the ref , my fellow cavan man doing what he does best favouring the big teams the two frees he gave Kerry when it was a drawn yesterday were a disgrace one of them the kerry man had thrown the ball before contact was made i thought he had blown for a free out and then a crazy soft free on the other side to clifford for minimal contact plus the kerry goal keeper should at best got a yellow card and the score been disallowed and at worst it was a red card offence. In the end Derrys in experience in the last 10 minutes cost them and they panicked when kerry pushed up on their kick out. Note to gaa crazy not to open up the upper cusack stand earlier could not get more than 2 tickets together and i know supporters who did not go because of it for an organisation that is so greedy for money it was a very strange decision. breffnibluewhite (Cavan) - Posts: 485 - 17/07/2023 12:02:25 2495060 Link 0 |
Clifford scored 9 pts yesterday yet Derry left McKaigue on him. Why? Big big mistake. I know Clifford is a superb player but leaving a fella over 10 years older on him was a tactical error on the part of Derry management. Dublin won't make the same mistake.
