If you had bothered to read my posts you would see that I think that we need to extend the inter Co season to at least mid August. How about that for a radical solution.

Well done to Carlow…. Offaly got there just desserts . It was a wonderful game somewhat marred by the commentary team on RTE willing Offaly to win the game for some reason…they gave a brilliant Carlow team little credit I think..!!!

It was actually mental how bias they were towards Offaly. Seemed to actually been disappointed with Carlow winning.

Engineering finals isn't straightforward. Antrim only beat Kerry in last year's final when one of their players won a free for falling over himself! Carlow had the extra motivation yesterday knowing Offaly wanted them as opponents. Offaly would have been more tuned in if it was Laois.

You know ledendzxix you sometimes come up with the weirdest of opinions. No harm done though.

What about the club game? I. Understand you have less clubs in Carlow but it's a battle for a lot of counties to run off their club cships and give the club player a fair crack at it too.
From what I can see there has never been more crowds at club games (in my lifetime granted) and I feel it's a masterstroke by thr GAA.

Some of the RTE commentary was pi$$ poor, names being fumbled, mixing up counties, slight patronising undertone and certainly a sense that Carlow didn't read the memo and the 'undercard' went and actually won the championship … I suppose when you play in the alleged "back woods" as one of the commentators actually said, (early in the first half) this is what you can expect - a caste system is alive and well in the GAA …

This is a disservice to all the other participants- which to be fair are all pretty evenly matched. Finally, hard luck to a gallant Offaly team, they will certainly have better days

Congrats Carlow and Offaly. These games still not being given the profile deserved and thus no advancement in the number of teams getting to the top flight.

Saturday 17 June
All-Ireland SHC preliminary quarter-finals
Carlow v Dublin
Offaly v Tipperary
All teams have three weeks to prepare for the All-Ireland Preliminary Quarter-finals. Probably two for Carlow. They'll be celebrating for the week!
