Sounds familiar. You have heard of a fellow Austin Gleeson?

Great year for Clare. Fairly unexpected too. I hope they regroup and come back stronger. Yesterday was not a reflection of their season. Congratulations to Kilkenny once again. Trump2020 (Galway) - Posts: 2505 - 03/07/2022 16:16:50 2429424 Link 1 |
Brian Logan did not become a bad manager over night. Which of the 15 things needed he could have done yesterday? A lot of nonsense posted about him and ignorance to what he has done with this team. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 3044 - 03/07/2022 16:24:24 2429427 Link 0 |
Lohan I don't think he is related to the other clan.

You have to hand it to kilkenny, the game was over after 20 minutes. They always show up no matter what players they have. hunting (Wexford) - Posts: 1134 - 03/07/2022 20:10:45 2429502 Link 0 |
They were immense in the first half. Impossible to live with. Early form guide always focuses on the Munster teams as its a far competitive Championship, with teams having to show great form to qualify. Kilkenny played one good match against Dublin in the round robin, similar to Waterford and Tipp but yet the cats finished in a provincial decider while their Munster equivalent were done. All this fed into the narrative that Clare having shown more consistency were the likely team to reach the final. Kilkenny being written off contributed to the fierce performance yesterday. "Early form guide always focuses on the Munster teams as its a far competitive Championship" Who told you this? There were only 3 points separating the 1st and 4th placed teams in Leinster. Whereas, in Munster 5 points separated 1st and 4th place. Cockney_Cat (UK) - Posts: 2774 - 03/07/2022 21:47:37 2429525 Link 1 |
Hard luck on the match Saturday. It was a combination of kk being on the money tactically and execution wise and clare just not at it. A lot of that team have minimal experience of croke park. It's a factor. Don't care what anyone says. Clare have built a nice squad but clearly more depth is needed defensively. Conlon was too big a loss to just pass over. Lohan needs to look at the HB line for better cover and options. It was a pity the matches came too soon for Aidan Mccarthy. Superb hurler. Clare just lacked a bit of composure and leadership for me Saturday but sometimes you get matches like that when the opposition can't miss. Kk do 4-6 week breaks better than anyone and had been going extremely well I had heard so I fancied them. I'd been impressed with them all year in fact and had them getting to where they are. I'd like to just say I was delighted for SOD to be back hurling, entertaining the crowds and showing everyone what can be achieved from such a tough place physically and mentally. Hats off to the guy and I'm sure he'll get a deserved all star. daveboy (Limerick) - Posts: 1197 - 04/07/2022 08:05:17 2429542 Link 0 |
It was a shattering day in Croak Park on Saturday watching thousands of Clare people streaming in to Croak Park was a joy unfortunately the joy was short lived. Fair play to Kilkenny they were superb but it was a humiliating experience for us as bad as Munster Finals of 93 & 94 I think Management have done a great job in unearthing talent and we had a great championship playing great hurling beating Tipp/Cork/Waterford/Wexford Drawing with LK great team work ect. Unfortunately on Saturday our Team selection Tactics matchups were all wrong. Losing John Conlon forced a reshuffle but I think slotting in Jack Browne at 7 and Davy Mc at 6 would have been best option or putting Aron Fitzgerald straight in at 6 or Cian Nolan in corner Rory to wing back all better options we coughed up 4/5 points from Mullen. Playing in the ball to our full forward line was hurried and 50/50 as opposed to working lines we played Tony K out of the game ourselves. Our Match ups especially TJ on Paul Flanagan should have been Cleary or David McInerney . Our substitutes made small enough impact especially Aron Shanagher his lazy striding around is most annoying to watch he needs a kick up the **** It will be a tough ask next year I think we need to find a centre back and Put John Conlon back at 14 he did a great job at 6 but is our most craftiest insider line forward not getting any younger I was delighted for Rory Hayes he redeemed himself well i hope he gets that all star clooney (Clare) - Posts: 985 - 04/07/2022 08:35:58 2429546 Link 0 |
Amy sign of LohansRedHelmet? Awful sad to see Clare go down the way they did. Feel awful for them. countyman2022 (Wexford) - Posts: 793 - 04/07/2022 09:15:00 2429554 Link 0 |
I wish they would take David Fitzgerald & Shane Dowling both off the Sunday game How can Fitzgerald comment when he cant even mention Lohans name its so petty at this stage everyone is bored . Shane talking about his pals in NAP clooney (Clare) - Posts: 985 - 04/07/2022 09:53:41 2429563 Link 1 |
Davy is there because he is an All Ireland winner as a player and a manager. Only for him, Clare wouldn't have an All Ireland in the last 100 years. That seems to be forgotten quite a lot.

"Only for him, Clare wouldn't have an All Ireland in the last 100 years." Anthony Daly, Brian Lohan, et al, will be interested to hear this. Cockney_Cat (UK) - Posts: 2774 - 04/07/2022 10:59:27 2429581 Link 0 |
Davy is a much better manager than Lohan.

If we get rid of analysts on the Sunday game, who do you want on it??what has dowling done to Clare people, some people very bitter towards him..I think he might be to honest..nothing about Jackie being on for kk games and mentioning his club mates..I think the problem is they don't give enough time to match action, because of ads during coverage.,davy has done a lot for hurling in the country not just his own county..it's a pity they can't set aside what has turned to a very bitter spat.. Clare crowd are just bitter to everyone. Even towards their own who brought them success. It was Sunday Game analysts when their players were being rightfully suspended. It was Wexford Gaa over Covid last year. There is always something. Never their fault.

I'm not bitter towards anyone especially not Wexford gaa, why would I be? It's a handy win for us every year. 2 best teams in the final and best of luck to both of them. Dec82andahalf (Clare) - Posts: 34 - 04/07/2022 12:02:07 2429602 Link 0 |

I most certainly am not bitter to Shane Dowling he is a really nice lad but IMO too many references to his own Should be a great final now clooney (Clare) - Posts: 985 - 04/07/2022 12:38:52 2429614 Link 0 |
