Good win yesterday but would not get too carried away with it, Tipperary are in middle of transition missing some huge players as well but a very good performance never the less. Great to have O Donnell & Duggan back both have huge games clooney (Clare) - Posts: 985 - 25/04/2022 09:08:30 2412933 Link 1 |
Clooney that was a great performance yesterday..the difference having Duggan and o donnell is huge..I like the idea of Conlan at c/back even though I'd say a lot not to pleased with it..there are still a few to come back ..if there might be a weakness,it just might be at full back..I hope ye beat cork this coming weekend and keep them out of the top 3 in munster.. Cleary is an excellent full back.

I disagree as he's too prone to fouling a lot of the time

Every top fullback in the country fouls alot. Look at O'Donnell- booked again at the weekend. One of the best there is. It's part of the job when you play that position and always was.

Clearly is a decent full back in what is an extremely difficult position. There are bearly 3 top class fullbacks in the country. Its the toughest position to master. LohansRedHelmet (Clare) - Posts: 2697 - 25/04/2022 16:01:04 2413150 Link 0 |
mike casey isnt that tall as full backs go but he is some bit of stuff.... munsterchamps (Limerick) - Posts: 1140 - 25/04/2022 17:20:13 2413185 Link 0 |
Good win on Sunday but real test Sunday week if Limerick bring there best squad to Town. clooney (Clare) - Posts: 985 - 03/05/2022 16:16:18 2414684 Link 0 |
I very much doubt Pat O Connor will play again for Clare, any more than Seadna Morey or Pdge Collins, etc. The squad is quite strong in general, I think, but even though there is an abundance of talent from midfield up I do not think we have strong enough defenders to get in the trophy reckoning this year.

Unbelievable win for our minor hurlers tonight in Cork and against Cork. To beat Cork tonight after losing to them by 40 points last year at this level is unbelievable. LohansRedHelmet (Clare) - Posts: 2697 - 03/05/2022 21:53:37 2414759 Link 0 |
Terribly lazy analysis and incorrect. Anthony Daly spoke on his podcast about Cleary being a marked man from a referees perspective. He has committed 6 fouls in 7 games since the start of the league and 3 of those were in 1 match. So that's 3 fouls in the other 6 games. How is that a lot of fouling? I have heard Duignan in particular being up Clearys discipline a couple of times now but it is unfounded and the stats don't agree. But cleary will lose any benefit of doubt he gets with refs the longer this witch-hunt continues. LohansRedHelmet (Clare) - Posts: 2697 - 03/05/2022 21:58:29 2414761 Link 0 |

Heartbreak for our U-17 s last night horrible way to decide a game though clooney (Clare) - Posts: 985 - 12/05/2022 09:39:08 2416617 Link 1 |
Terrible way to lose a game. The extra games against Galway and whoever loses the Leinster final will definitely stand your lads in good stead if you get through to face Tipp again.

And further green shoots when one takes the performance of the Under 20s against Limerick into account. That was a game they should have won. I also feel that with Shane O'Donnell and Peter Duggan and a few injured players back the Seniors could be a very serious threat later in the Championship.

Its not over yet. Back door as far as I know. Ridiculous to decide a final on penalties espeically at that age group. Any Clare GAA people who are Munster rugby fans must be sick of the sight of pens the last couple of weeks. Looks like Clare had completely taken over until Tipp emptied the bench after the red card and the subs made a huge impact. Great watch considering these are only under 17. tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 12/05/2022 15:28:32 2416719 Link 1 |
Had it recorded on the sky box then went to watch it and the recording finished half way through extra time, raging. Harsh on young fellas to lose like that. Bon (Kildare) - Posts: 2320 - 12/05/2022 17:09:46 2416752 Link 1 |
Yeah, it was a brilliant game and a shame that one side had to lose out. A replay would surely have been preferable, even if it had to be played next Monday, the same evening that the Leinster final takes place. I supect the teams might meet again later. The Leinster final is a unique pairing and I haven't seen enough of Offaly or Laois to make a forecast, but I did notice Offaly have one brilliant young forward. Galway will no doubt be strong as usual but I wouldn't rule out a Tipp-Clare final. midlands (Westmeath) - Posts: 603 - 12/05/2022 18:39:03 2416777 Link 0 |
Agreed, super game. I thought Tipp were brilliant in normal time when they went down to 14. Very harsh way to lose minor Final imo. Don't like it at all. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13797 - 12/05/2022 21:07:35 2416783 Link 0 |
