Replying To tiobraid:  "Galway thought Johnny Glynn would do the same in 2018 and Casey went to town on him. High ball against Limerick rarely works. Can you name another incident apart from the Concannon goal where Limerick have been caught out? I doubt you can.."
Just a note that Jamesie O'Connor made. Limerick have 2 excellent corner backs. Cody probably will try to isolate full forward vs full back. Casey did not look confident against Galway, also sent a few passes astray. He might do fine in final, but Cody will be looking at options here!

They could have been caught out twice last Sunday if Whelan had spotted Concannon alone on the edge of the square, in 65th minute. As well as that CC has been poor in the air, both against KK in the LF and against LK. Not only that, but he gave away the sliotar cheaply four times in the second half, at least two of those mistakes resulted in LK points.

Replying To Oldtourman:  "Well the Galway goalie launched high ball after high ball down on the Limerick full back line for most of the last 10 minutes and the boys cleared every ball with ease. Were that FBL that weak after all. Sure Gillane and Flanagan scored eight points between them and Mulcahy was fouled three times, from which two points emerged. And our Full back line conceded very few frees throughout the whole game."
2 very good corner backs on the limerick team . Full back less so. Against Kilkenny could be dangerous. Still, being forewarned is forearmed, and Kiely will have contingencies in place. Here's to a cracking all Ireland final. I have no real preference… just will enjoy the game.

Ya I said on another post that Casey was trying to get too involved in general play against Galway...he passed midfield twice...that wont happen in the final. 1 on 1 though Casey is very strong in the air for a small full back.He has serous cover beside and in front too

Think it's hard to find fault with our fullback line. Ya no doubt Casey was slightly out of position for the goal but other than that they've been impeccable and definitely our best line on the pitch this year

I have indeed. Couldnt be more than 5ft 10 - at the most. I'd imagine hes defintely the smallest in the full back line and possibly only Darragh O'Donavan and maybe Cian Lynch (not sure) and his brother smaller from the team that started last years final (i know he didnt play last year before I'm pulled up on that)
For me thats on the small side for a full back

Actually heres a link just in case you havent seen him before

If you think your backs cleared everything with ease in the last 10 minutes you obviously weren't at the game OTM!

Casey is a brilliant full back. It's very rare his man will win a 50/50 ball, even when he's at a height disadvantage. His positioning under the high ball is brilliant so if he doesn't win it, he'll break it and there's usually somewhere there to mop it up.

How does the attitude of a random poster on here figure on Brian Cody's plans or how he feels? Get a grip of yourself.

This HS website is just a forum that a minute percentage of people interested in hurling use to express their views. No inter-county hurling manager reads what we write. And if on the smallest of small possibilities that one does, do you think that he'd use it as a foundation to base his AI winning strategy on?

Get a grip! It's time you took a break from this place, if you think that what's written on here has any influence at all on what happens in the realities of the hurling.

Most memorable full back/ full forward matchup was Fan Larkin 5'5 in height vs Ray Cummins 6'3 ! Fan always did well, waited for Ray to catch the ball, then dealt with him at ground level! Ray did much better against Pa Dillon 6'2 .Have to hand it to the cats… they know their hurling inside out! Looking forward to watching TJ Reid play, as this year he's rolling back the years, catching, distributing, impeccable free taking, and playing out of his skin!

Baire! Please! Do not post anything critical, constructive or otherwise,of Limerick on this forum. It is not welcomed. You will be met with a torrent of abuse from county Limerick, USA , Japan and other countries . Unless, you like provoking a reaction, which I must admit is highly amusing!

It's hilarious Rockies. You'll get the odd 'scit omne' in every county but there seems to be a high percentage of them following the green army! lol
