Mayo lose another final surprise surprise, shooting practice for Kerry in Croker, Clifford has O'Hora in his pocket, Kerry will hardly get a real tough match now till the All Ireland semi final. Lovely simulation from AOS for the black card, he hasn't lost his touch anyway. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 3183 - 03/04/2022 17:26:53 2409292 Link 4 |
How did Jack Barry escape a black card? Yellow card is a far too inadequate punishment for such a cynical foul, and then Diarmuid O'Connor gets a black for a far less serious offence. midlands (Westmeath) - Posts: 603 - 03/04/2022 17:27:07 2409293 Link 0 |
Padraig Horan is better off keeping his trap Closed and concentrate on marking Clifford instead, Vish (USA) - Posts: 94 - 03/04/2022 17:29:17 2409294 Link 3 |
Doesn't say much for other teams if this Mayo team was able to make the final? tommy132 (Mayo) - Posts: 638 - 03/04/2022 17:37:07 2409297 Link 1 |

Funny many on our own thread implying we will be beaten out the gate in Castlebar after the Rossies (deservedly in fairness) pipped us. No thanks for being an inter county footballer these days methinks.

Thanks for "correcting" the spelling of his surname there - it's O'Hora

Classy display by Clifford. Ridiculous double yellow for him and O'Hora - Clifford did nothing to deserve any card. It's a pet hate of mine - back nips at forward and half fouls him and is yapping in his ear all game. Then genius ref comes up and gives both men a yellow card. Clifford answered him with football though - just a classy operator and gives every impression of being a gent as well essmac (Tyrone) - Posts: 1141 - 03/04/2022 18:32:34 2409319 Link 5 |
Nice touch by the GAA closing the Hill in our honour. ;) TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4516 - 03/04/2022 18:40:57 2409323 Link 4 |
The fact kerry won well is hardly surprising. No Durcan, mullin, diarmuid o'connor, hennelly (sub keeper generally good though), conroy (out for season) and killian o'connor (only getting back.) These are mayo's main men and even with them kerry would be big favorites. Also that's kerry finished now to the quarter final and maybe semi final so they can go full throttle. Mayo are focused on galway. In that sense I couldn't understand why kerry didn't go full throttle last week. Beating a team like tyrone who had to win would have been a better to fucus on with the all ireland in mind. Kerry just had to show up today to win. Disappointing one sided contest. David Clifford showed the GAA world what damage he can do with left one on one with a defender that isn't able for him. Yondu (UK) - Posts: 845 - 03/04/2022 19:00:50 2409332 Link 1 |
Doesn't say much for Mayo either with that hiding.

I feel sorry for O'Hora - zero pressure on most of the ball going into Clifford and no help from a midfielder or half back when he did manage to stand him up. Donegal2022 (Donegal) - Posts: 13 - 03/04/2022 19:07:30 2409336 Link 0 |

Yes you're correct that Kerry won't get a proper game until they play in the all Ireland semi final that's because they play in the hurling province of Munster, a cake walk most years, that's why they've won more all irelands than any one else !

Ahem, 67% of Munster teams have qualified through the league's Top 16 places for the All-Ireland qualifiers. The highest percentage of all the province's. There have been 2 All Munster All-Ireland finals. The highest total for all provinces. 5 out of 6 Munster counties have made the All-Ireland quarter-finals in the Qualifier era. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 8780 - 03/04/2022 19:43:54 2409349 Link 1 |
