Really classy captain too, ''what goes around comes around'' was a direct quote he aimed at Ballyhale in his speech. Typical townie team. countyman2022 (Wexford) - Posts: 642 - 13/02/2022 09:31:58 2400033 Link 0 |
Why would they feel horrible? Most, if not all of them, have a couple of All Ireland Medals. This year they fell over the line against MLR, St Ryanaghs and the Galway Champions. They must known they were walking a tight rope. Knowing enough about Kilkenny teams from the past, they will just congratulate Ballygunner on a fine win, take their beating with dignity like the fine men they are and move on with renewed enthusiasm to the next challenge. That is how great teams cope with set backs.

So what. Ballygunner are a fine team and richly deserved their victory. Sincere Congratulations to them. To win eight Waterford titles was a massive achievement also.

It is strange what people pull our to bring someone down. Before he said that he acknowledged Ballyhale as the greatest club team of all time. Then went on in a light way to say this but most important he clarified in that statement the words "NO DISRESPECT ". Eddie Brennan posted how dignified Coughlan was in his speech. This idiot on here obviously has nothing between his ears.

Obvious delighted with the result but first I would have to compliment James Owens and his team. Did an excellent job in these times when the refs take a battering. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 2660 - 13/02/2022 16:32:51 2400130 Link 0 |
Your full of b.s. with your half quoted statement.

Half quoted statement? Did he or did he not say it? A team after losing an All Ireland by last puck the match and he said that? Classless townies as I said, I wasn't surprised either.

I said he did but not in any derogative way. Don't be disgrace to your fellow Wexford people. Just shows how much you know with your "townie" remark. First and foremost Waterford is a city. Ballygunner is a country club where development from the city has come out towards them. I played again them when they were junior in the two room school house that is there still. Most of their players past and present are from farming and labouring back grounds. For you information the city teams are Mount Sion, Erin's Own, De LaSalle, Roanmore , Ferrybank and St. Saviours. With regards Coughlan, not from his club but by all accounts a decent individual that you are trying to sully. I now give you the award of the biggest idiot that ever posted on these pages . Worse still a lying one. Everyone else on here wants to talk about the game but you have a different agenda. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 2660 - 13/02/2022 18:19:32 2400162 Link 0 |
I thought it was an awful comment is all and most from any county and not just Wexford that would watch it back would agree. Sorry to have upset you.

You are just wrong about the comment.

On the whole speech thing he looked out of his comfort zone and nervous and I'd say he didn't even realise what he said, he'd be mortified looking back, definitely wasn't intended in a nasty way and in fairness to him your head would be scrambled after winning a final in that manner. bostonredsox (Wexford) - Posts: 4368 - 13/02/2022 21:27:42 2400215 Link 0 |
A lot would disagree with you on that.

Where are they ? You started ofd with an agenda " not surprised and townie remark." Completely ignore that Coughlan paid more tribute to Ballyhale than anyone ever does to the opposing team. Selecting what you wanted and ignoring what you wanted. Nothing about the game and Coughlan's contribution holding Colin Fennelly to a point from play. Talking about the location of Waterford clubs that you obviously have no clue. It is easy for anyone to see through what you are about. I don't get cranked up with poster but hateful rhetoric like you posted needs to be called out. I shouldn't, you are a clown unfortunately posing in the great colours of Wexford that is not what they are like.

If your telling me Ballygunner aren't a townie club, you really are showing your lack of knowledge to do with anything with that club in the present. They're absolute townies. Its turned into a super club, getting lads from all over the city. Sad see clubs like that win anything.
