Think it's time people on here start respecting Killanny.

Didn't get watching the first game today in Inniskeen. Watched the second one on Clubber. Brilliant platform it has to be said.

Shock result for Harps but Kilanny are a good side and have been this while.

Cremartin didn't show up today against Carrick and was a very poor game to watch. So so many mistakes which left it very stop start. Would both teams struggle in senior? I think so and believe they are both suited in Intermediate.

Replying To Monaghansclown:  "Two very tough Intermediate semis to call on Sunday.

Carrick and Cremartin is tough to call. On paper these should be the two best teams left so you would think this will be the final. Considering Cremartin have only one forward and 14 other bogmen on their team, I fancy Carrick to win this one. Carrick are a young team but probably have more talent around the park and the O'Hanlons should do damage against the sluggish Cremartin full back line. But knowing Carrick like I do they are always prone to a bottle job when the going gets tough. Can they avoid doing a Blayney on it and crippling when it comes to knock out football? I think this is Carrick's intermediate to lose and they should come out on top here. Carrick to win the bottle job derby by 3.

I fancy Harps to win the opener. They are probably the most improved team in Monaghan in the last few months and have a good mix of young and old. This Killanny team think they have the championship won after beating a mediocre Blayney team and I don't feel they can back it up on Sunday. Harps by 2.

Looking forward to two games with plenty of mistakes to decide who will be getting relegated from Senior in 2024."
You really do live up to your name buddy. Not hard to tell your from north of the county.

So it is the week of the Senior Club Championship Final. Who are your predictions?

Hopefully it will be a good game of attacking football rather than a boring defensive scene.

I think Inniskeen might be the Ireland of Rugby on Sunday.
Had a great year to there credit, no one can deny that, but they are now meeting the All Blacks of Monaghan Football, and I just think they might get a but of stage fright on Sunday for the first 10 minutes and because of that possibly chasing the game. Couldn't think of a worse team than Scotstown to be chasing.
I genuinely hope Inniskeen win it as they have played the best, most consistent football all year but unfortunately I think they will need to lose one to win one.
33 year since they were in the last one but 75 years since they won it.

Three games to go in Monaghan.

Blackhill v Tyholland in the JFC.

Scotstown v Inniskeen in the SFC.

Carrick v Killanny in the IFC.

I think they will be 3 tight and entertaining finals. What's everyone's opinions on the teams left and the predictions for the games.

What's the obsession with attacking all out kick it in football? Go back to the 80s. There are many ways to play football. It's about wining not about what you think

Defence wins championships... All very tight games with all defences the best in their divisions (bar maybe Latton in Senior but they couldn't score enough which is a different story). So, Blackhill, Carrick & Scotstown

I wouldn't rate Tyholland. I think they are an average junior team without Karl O'Connell. I can see Blackhill getting the win there.

Inniskeen just about by 1/2
Carrick by 5/6
Blackhill by 3

But… Tyholland have Karl O'Connell this weekend so what's your point? Just a meaningless statement. Blackhill are a bang average Junior team without Phillip Donnelly… but that doesn't matter because they do in fact have him. If my granny had wheels she'd be a bike!

Going through the teams, Tyholland have the much more talented, younger team. Darragh Treanor impressed in the McKenna Cup this year. His brother Sean was county u20 captain 3 years ago. Their two u20s from this year, McKenna and Walker have lightening pace. Mooney up front, scorer of that unbelievable goal for Monaghan minors a few years ago in Croke Park against Kerry. Then the evergreen Dermot Coyle up front, who is still a handful (what a player in his prime). That's without mentioning the fact that they have an All Star nominee in their team.
Then you look at the Blackhill team and it's basically the exact same team from 5 or 6 years ago. They are such a dogged side though, the weather this week will suit them down to the ground.
I just can't see a world in which Blackhill win to be honest, unless it's a similar day weather-wise to today

Shades of 1990 when they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory V Blayney in Carrick!

People going to matches would like to entertained, it doesn't have to be all about kicking but doesn't have to be ultra defensive either. Getting the right balance is hard because its a results business. If you are lucky to have good forwards then get the ball up as quick as you can. Managers come in but do they really play to the players strengths or play their system. Massive problem in Club football
