Replying To Temple56:  "The people I taking to said they had co managers and one of them left last week but whoever the other manager is stayed on. He must be a Garrycastle man.

They still should beat Shamrocks."
Ex Longford manager Denis Connerton walked. I Know they had John Donnellan in with him as a selector/Coach

Replying To Westmeath213:  "What fixtures are changed to Thursday ?"
Tang V Tyrellspass, Athlone V Moate, Milltown V Shandonagh, Castledaly V Milltownpass all changed to Thursday.
Very disrespectful to players who may have made work arrangements for Tuesday or Wednesday.

Tickets for club matches only available online as far as I know - same website as last year - universe.com.
I see there's a season ticket for €200 and i think there's a reduced season ticket for OAP's available in Cusack Park.
I wonder if any games are going to be streamed on Iarmhi TV which was a great job last year ?
Busy time for the dual player to get the first 2 rounds played - possibly 4 games in 10 days ?
In fairness to the county board, they circulated 2 options depending on how Westmeath got on.
The option that included WH getting to the Tailteann Cup Final is what is being implemented and did included mid week fixtures for round 2. Presume it's Leinster club that is dictating.

Denis Connerton left? Any reason why? That's a huge blow for Garrycastle.

Harsh on Killucan and Rosemount to still have to play Sunday/Tuesday

Looks like the double header in Cusack park Sunday are the games on Iarmhi TV

He walked last week whether they can get him back or try get him back I don know. I was just told that end of last week.
Lack of Commitment from the panel. Good few wedding around the club and town lately which could have played a part in that.

That group of players have shown that they know how to pace themselves and time their run. They looked quite poor for most of last summer - but not when the business end came around.

Now that inter county is over until January, what are posters views on Westmeath's performances across 2022? I'd give 6-7 out of 10, we had an average to disappointing league, a comfortable win over Longford, poor display versus Kildare in championship but impressive Tailteann Cup culminating in Saturday's win. We've got a decent squad but 5-6 key players definitely in their last couple of years at this level.

Mixed year. Didn't get promoted due mainly to the result v longford. It turned out a blessing in disguise. Great campaign in Tailteann Cup culminating in the great excitement on Saturday. The emergence of Sam mcartin was a big plus

Tickets being online only is a big inconvenience for many around the county I'm sure. There would be many people I know who would like to be attending matches but maybe don't have the ability to buy them online themselves.
Presumably if bought online the tickets can be printed out and brought to the matches that way? Even this is an inconvenience for people.

Great to see the games scheduled for iarmhi Tv again this year, I have to say I enjoy the commentary but one thing I really enjoyed last year, and it went under the radar for many…was the Westmeath GAA YouTube channel with the 'Westmeath Game' pre and post game reactions for both codes! It's a brilliant addition to the club championships and I would hope to see it back in action this year. looking forward to a great championship. I think it's a 3 in a row for the st. Lomans men this year is my early prediction. The Heslin, O'Toole, McCartan trio are just to hard to handle.

The past couple of seasons Luke Loughlin came in for criticism for being on and off the panel. Rumors of discipline etc. It's a pity people did not know what was going on. A brave step to come out and tell the world his most personal troubles. I hope he can put these thing behind him and live life to the full.

Fair play to Luke Loughlin-very honest interview in paper and on evening news.Hard on a young lad to be so open about past problems so keep up the great work Luke.A perfect example that help is always available and one is not alone when seeking help.

Well done Luke Loughlin on his very frank interview and his recovery. I hope he goes on to fulfill his true potential with Westmeath. It was brillant to see them winning the Tailtean Cup in a team who seem to be very united. Overall a good year for football and hurling in Westmeath.

Stuck with them , but you never felt they'd steal it. Shamrocks backs were very good, but they struggled up front. Garrycastle were ok. If they beat Caulry next week I guess they are through.

I really feel this years senior championship is very interesting!
Lomans still red hot favourites and rightly so but I feel the chasing pack has never been so strong.

Garrycastle will be there abouts like they are always are and will be the team Lomans will fear the most

The Downs flew through the group stages last year but Garrycastle used there experience to knock them out in the semis with them being a year older and with having Luke back for the full championship they will have a big say.

Kinnegad are very young but they are very talented can see them out running a few few team this year but it might be a year or two to early for them.

Tyrellspass should gain momentum in group two and with loads of past and present county players they will be hard beat in the knockouts

It's Lomans championship to lose but these 4 other teams will fancy there chances

Athlone got over tang last night in the senior.
Big win for St Mary's last night against miltownpass. Ballymore won well against balinacargy in intermediate too.
