Caulry are likely gone now as they have the big 2 in that group yet to play, they'd need to win all 3 remaining games which is very unlikely. Same in the other group where both Moate and Shandonagh are likely not in non relegation mode. Shandonagh appear to be well of the pace at this level and look to be favourites for Intermediate.

Apologies fair enough. They did lose that game though.

Four points would be enough for Caulry to qualify with four teams going through, they need points from either Loman's or Kinnegad though, Shandonagh have been very poor in both games, not sure why they're so off the standard but they'll surely be too good for Malachy's who are missing David Lynch and a few of their hurlers.

Malachys gave downs lots of yes 8 points at end but 2 soft goals they were in it. It will be close but wouldn't write them off vs Shanndonagh

Won't be out just yet. Fairly sure the top group is

Lomans vs Caulry
Kgad vs Athlone
Tpass vs Tang

Caulry would have to beat Tang also no guarantee with the way both teams are playing

It's obvious that you haven't a clue about Caulry football or Westmeath football in general. Athlone were by far the best team in the first half. However in the second half Caulry midfield dominated up until the Athlone full back got injured. They lost their shape after that.
Caulry can solve the half forward line problem. They could survive in section A. Healy was impressive.
Athlone on the other hand can cause a few problems, a credit to Eoin Jordan and team.

Kevin Maguire is a massive loss. He's on honeymoon and deserves it after the service to club and county. He would have been available if previous management was involved"
So if the previous management were involved he wouldn't have gone on honeymoon?? What a load of BS. Reality is that Caulry flattered to deceive last year. It'll be 3 losses on the bounce after Lomans game and then its survival mode from there and they could be then facing a Kinnegad team determined to book their own place in the knockout stages. I think they are gone.

Yeah, something not right in Shandonagh at all. 11 pts down and 7pts down at HT in both matches so far. Poor stuff.

Have heard rumours of players leaving the panel and a lot of unrest in the camp but could be rubbish

We must have been watching different game so because at no time were Caulry dominant at midfield simply because they do not have a dominant midfield pairing nor seemily do they have a plan B as for the last year or so their main playmaker has been Mc Cormack but teams have copped on and are man marking him big time so he is not on the ball as much .Caulry need to step up all over the park to have any chance of getting the 2 results they need.

As you are a Caulry man could you tell us what style of play Curran had with Caulry?

Also, you think Maguire would have cancelled his honeymoon just because Curran was in charge of Caulry but he wouldn't cancel it for Pat Flanagan who managed him at county level for years? Is this correct? Mad if true...

Reality is wont get a better chance of making final than last year and even this year as A has been weakest than it ever has been.
Caulrycanbeat Tang if Flanagan can keep them focused and quite possibly Kinnegad in last game.
Tpass only won 2 games last year and got a semiits not beyond Caulry.

Pat F, has got them to D1 league football next season which isnt bad in his first season .
As you say this poor athlone team nearly beat Caulry last Yr in the QF's with Caulry having Kevin Maguire, Ben Moran, Paddy Sleator and the full fitness of Sean Fox and E Nally who both only came on yesterday playing. Any caulry team missing those players will struggle. Also Eoin Fox is not around and other fringe players gone as well.
And to say a player wouldn't go on honeymoon if Cake was around is laughable.

Haven't seen any Caulry games yet this year, but sounds like their large investment has not paid off just yet.
Kinnegad bounced back and had a good win, they'll fancy their chances of going far.
Killucan were v impressive and could suprise a few, having said that Shandonagh were woeful and could be fighting relegation.

A team in Senior section A being lauded for finishing 12th in the all county league is a new achievement bar!!!!

Replying To Captainfantastic:  "Where can you find the WH football championship tables? All I see on the WH website are league tables which are over a month now?"
Have to say that while the new App is welcome, the web site is a disaster, no league tables, very hard to navigate to find the different championships. Not sure who is in charge of the IT side of things, but its very poor.

The updates on twitter and Facebook also are sketchy.

Another observation from the Caulry/Athlone game was the delay in getting a stretcher to Noel Mulligan when he went down to a very bad looking knee injury. Had to be carried off by team mates, a stretcher that looked like it was bought in the central isle in Lidl appeared about 15 minutes later....

Athlone did well to come back from a poor 15 minutes after the break, but unless they can get some forwards firing, they will struggle to go any further than QF. Caulry looked sluggish and didnt seem to be jelling together at all... huge difference in the same teams compared to the QF last year.
