Westhmeath were highly compeditive against both Galway and Armagh , who are both in an All-Ireland Final. Ideally, the extended panel should ideally be attend the Final as a group to better understand the improvements required to compete at this level. and at the very least, club games should not be organised, restricting the panel from attending the Game. Caulry and Athlone is the big game this weekend. Loser will most likely not qualify for the knockouts. Sounds harsh but it's rare enough a team qualifies after losing the first two games. I know Lomans lost the first two in 2021 and ended up winning it but seems an outlier. It's not that rare. Athlone lost their first two last year and came 2nd in group B. In 2019 The Downs lost their first 3 and still made the semi final.

Ah jheez Claretandblue.. you're posts are normally very good on here, but surely you can see you're way off the mark here.. First of all, even if the final did finish at 5.00, what do you expect players to do? Rock up to the match 15 minutes before throw in? Not to mention the fact that extra time is a very distinct possibility and if it did happen, the All - Ireland would probably finish at same time the championship game is throwing in.. and if that happened I can guarantee the number of supports who attend the game will be way down. I don't have an issue with games being on the Sunday morning or maybe even a 7.30pm throw in, but even that is pushing it. Iarmhí TV is a brilliant service to have, but i feel like if there was no games streamed live this weekend the county board wouldn't have made the decision to play games at 5.45. Caulry one of the best in Leinster is a slight exaggeration. Not every game plays out how it is predicted and this is one I think won't. I see Kinnegad bouncing back with a big performance and TPass being the unfortunate team that gets that performance.

Getting any team to play on All Ireland final day is a joke ask the players themselves they . Maybe it's time the players withdraw from playing on the day of a All Ireland because leaving it to the fixture committee is guaranteed to be a mess.Have a bit of respect for the players you be the very one coming on here criticising our own players when they lose a O'Byrne cup game in January.

Fair enough, some clubs got together and organised their original Sunday evening match for Sunday morning, sensible option.

And some clubs got together and got their game brought back to saturday from sunday and some clubs were asked to move their game from sunday to saturday but refused!!-so not every club player is interested in all Ireland final-apparently.!!

Interesting results on the second weekend of the football championship. Kinnegad bounced back as expected vs Tyrrellspass, Tang and Loman's was a real battle in Ballymore, plenty of battles throughout, Loman's won by 2 with a late Tang goal almost resulting in a shock, Killucan look to be back in form with a comprehensive win over a very poor Shandonagh, a 15 point beating is a significant win, Moate in a bit of bother in Section B as well, lost a low scoring game vs Shamrocks and Moate's match with Shandonagh will be vital, seems likely after tomorrow that three teams in Section B will have full points after two rounds and three teams on zero points. Milltown again impressive versus Milltownpass in the Intermediate championship with Milltownpass onno points after two games like last year, Garrycastle too good for Castledaly who look favourites to drop to section B. Kilbeggan prob the surprise team of the year, last year's junior champions have full points from two matches in six days, are virtually safe from relegation already and will now be focused on gaining promotion to Section A, Maryland's match with Ballynacargy already has the look of a relegation decider. Was at the Tang Vs Lomans game and it was a 2 point hammering if that even makes sense. I find it hard to describe what I saw from Tang, never ever going to win the game but yet never really out of it as regards the scoreline. I can see what Tang attempted but for GAA's sake, just go out on your shield, lose by 20 points and play the game. St. Lomans were in zero danger of losing the game. Tang with a goal from the last kick of the game with a high ball. Ballymore club should be proud, pitch was perfect, well organized, the atmosphere was great. Pity we didn't get a game.

Harsh on Tang, their job is to be competitive, they changed manager six weeks ago, have a pool of players prob 20% of the big town clubs, they had the toughest draw possible and emerged with two points and negligible scoring difference. Competing on Loman's terms would be lunacy, a shootout would have seen Loman's winning 2-18 to 0-5, they turned it into a grind, possibly never looked like winning but the Tang supporters of which there were plenty weren't complaining. their ambition is to be in Section A next year, likes of Shandonagh, Tubberclair. Garrycastle, Moate, Milltownpass and Shamrocks would love to be in Tang's position, one more win from their three fixtures will virtually ensure a quarter final.
