My Team:

1. Jason Daly
2. Jack Smith
3. Kevin Maguire
4. Charlie Drumm (Needs to be given a chance he's a way better footballer than David Giles)
5. Sam McCartan
6. Ronan Wallace
7. Nigel Harte
8. Sam Duncan
9. Ray Connellan
10. Luke Loughlin
11. Ronan O'Toole
12. Ger Egan
13. Robbie Forde (Has done well off the bench he deserves more of a chance)
14. John Heslin
15. Alex Gardiner

Subs:

James Dolan (Didn't make impact the last day but I would still bring him on again)
Jamie Gonoud (Was poor the last day but can be an impact of the bench)
Lorcan Dolan (Cant believe he wasn't used the last day was he injured?)
Jonathan Lynam
Tj Cox (Another player who should get minutes)

Others:
David Giles
David Lynch
Conor McCormack (I heard he played for Caulry 2 weeks ago?)
Kieran Martin

Wasn't Gonoud on the team of the week?

I taught Gonoud was one of our few beter players against kildare? I'd like to see Dolan in from the start and possibly see a change in goals.

The O'Byrne Cup and the likes is the time to start messing about with changing/trying out keepers ,not now.

Id imagine the team that started against Kildare will get the nod-surely if Jack Cooney thought it was the best for a Leinster semi -final then its the team to face Laois which will be a tricky game as always in Portlaoise.

Every lad that has committed to the cause 'deserves' to be on the team; that's not in question. However, this is elite level competition and it comes down to being able to compete at optimum level for the duration. Unfortunately Ger Egan has shown in both championship appearances that he's not at that level at the moment. I'm not here to bash Ger; a great servant and one of the best we've turned out in the last 10 years but right now he's not up to it.
Jamie has proven one of the better contributors this season and Nigel has adapted well to the roll of wing back; I'd have both of them in the team.
Midfield needs bolstering; a physical presence that will impose themselves in that area. For that reason I'd start Sam Duncan. I'd like to see Ray Connellan at wing forward. I think he could be more effective there attacking, be a long kick out option and he has the athleticism to track back defensively too - played both Leinster games tagging an opposition player which I think is compromising his potential.

My starting team would be:
Daly
Smith Maguire Gonoud
Harte Wallace McCartan
Lynam Duncan
Loughlin O'Toole Connellan
Forde Heslin Gardiner

Potential banana skin this weekend, I know we had a big win over Laois in Leinster last year but there is never usually much between these teams in the last few years. Doesn't seem to be much talk coming from Laois about this competition, I wonder what they have been doing since losing the last match over a month ago.
It would be nice to go far in this competition but we don't want it to be over before it's started.

As for the team itself, I'd agree with what others have said re Ger Egan; the best footballer in the county in my opinion but maybe he's not back to full fitness just yet. It would be great to have the likes of him and J. Dolan to come off the bench and make an impact later in the game. We know that Jack seems to like David Lynch for his work rate and the amount of work he gets through, so he will surely be in the team somewhere.

For me the team would be:
Daly
Smith Maguire Gonoud
Harte Wallace McCartan
Lynam Connellan
Lynch O'Toole Loughlin
Forde Heslin Gardiner

That leaves the likes of Egan, J. Dolan, L. Dolan, Duncan, Martin to come from the bench when the game is in the melting pot.
Best of luck to the lads on Sunday

How could they name that starting line up after a number of those lads totally underperformed vs Kildare and look how average they proved to be. Beyond childish carry on to be naming dummy sides for the Tailteann Cup. Name the team that will start as successful counties do and cut out the codology. Likes of Robbie Forde, Sam Duncan, TJ Cox and Lorcan Dolan deserve at least 30 mins game time today. Laois at their lowest ebb since late 70s, Wicklow beat them easily.

Missed the game this afternoon. Great to get out with a win. Carlow, Offaly and New York in the next round. We will go in to the Q/Fs as favourites for any opponent we get.

Great to see Robbie Forde get game time and score an important point.

No Ray Connellan or Alex Gardiner?? Any reason why?

How did James Dolan and Ger Egan play? Did they look fit?

From all accounts Luke and Sam McCartan were the difference
