Unusual comment. Most posters just mention a few players from their clubs .... recent comments on Lomans, CTG or Caulry would give the impression they only had two or three players worth mentioning.

What exactly is heslins injury that he picked up in the friendly ? Major major loss if he can't play at weekend … Lakecounty94 (Westmeath) - Posts: 69 - 13/09/2023 22:52:30 2504223 Link 0 |
In the last two seasons, Caulry have been unable to beat Shamrocks and The Downs teams with nothing to play for. Westmeathgael98 (Westmeath) - Posts: 50 - 14/09/2023 07:21:03 2504224 Link 0 |
I really cant understand all the hype about Caulry...so many posters here bigging them up. There shoud be really good exciting games this weekend. gti (Westmeath) - Posts: 241 - 15/09/2023 09:55:11 2504315 Link 0 |
Would be some fairytale story for Kinnegad to reach their first county final in 25 years after the death of a player in January. That was incredibly sad. Nobody would begrudge them a championship after what has happened. Westmeathgael98 (Westmeath) - Posts: 50 - 15/09/2023 10:24:01 2504321 Link 1 |
Being from Mount Temple and I go to all of caulry's games and try to get to as many underage games as I can. I really hope my club gets to their first senior championship final. It would be a dream come true. However if we were not to make it and Kinnegad get through I would want no other club to win it with what they have went through this year Let's enjoy the games and hope the weather that is promised does not spoil the games Mountlin (Westmeath) - Posts: 59 - 15/09/2023 12:49:38 2504348 Link 1 |
Once again very strong second half performance by Milltownpass and fancy them big time to go all the way and win the Intermediate title now. Bruno@1 (Westmeath) - Posts: 218 - 16/09/2023 19:11:28 2504451 Link 0 |
Tyrrellspass have been beaten so often in knockout games over past 7-8 years that it's psychological at this stage. They never looked likely to be even remotely competitive, let alone win the game. Atmosphere was so subdued for a semi final, even before sending off it was over. Milltownpass have made some progress since opening two rounds when they were facing a relegation battle, David Martin a fine manager, they're missing Finbarr Coyne and in the final. Milltown were disappointing in final quarter, forwards didn't threaten a goal but they have potential. Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 1967 - 16/09/2023 19:27:13 2504452 Link 0 |
Two close games in junior in rochfortbridge this morning, quality wasn't great but entertaining nonetheless westmeathgaa11 (Westmeath) - Posts: 299 - 17/09/2023 18:18:27 2504522 Link 0 |
Great win for Malachy's over Tubberclair, Tubberclair's form has been patchy in last few weeks and Malachy's have now won 7 out of 7 championship matches, considerable achievement with lots of dual players involved, hectic time for them, hurling semi next Sunday. Senior semi finals extremely disappointing in quality and excitement levels, two best sides in the final, hopefully a decent final. Caulry beaten today as I expected. Any side beaten by 20 points even in a challenge at this time of the year is not good enough. Going in right direction and better days ahead but signs were worrying after challenge last week even if a poster will try lie about score. sourmilk93 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1189 - 17/09/2023 19:17:06 2504525 Link 0 |
The caulry hype train over for another year "not good enough simple as Mooo (Westmeath) - Posts: 43 - 17/09/2023 19:43:31 2504532 Link 0 |
Kinnegad have a real chance in the final. Should have beaten Lomans in 2021 and are certainly not there to make up the numbers. Westmeathgael98 (Westmeath) - Posts: 50 - 17/09/2023 19:47:48 2504534 Link 0 |
Kinnegad miles better team and deserve to win and I guess they have to do everything to win but the way they play is not great to watch. I understand they don't have the quality of some teams in the county but fair play to them for sticking to the system 15 behind the ball and break at pace when turn over. They tried to kick the ball forward twice in 1st half and lost the ball. Jack Cooney was furious and kept shouting no kicking play the ball through the hands. Presume Temple is being ironic or sarcastic in his comment, Caulry had one forward who scored from play in over 60 mins, frequently there were no Caulry players in Kinnegad half in first half, no score from play in opening 37 mins, never threatened a goal at any stage, Kinnegad may be solid defensively but they play like the Harlem Globetrotters compare to Caulry set up. Thankfully that nonsensical style got its comeuppance today. Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 1967 - 17/09/2023 21:14:51 2504549 Link 0 |
