Clonkill Vs CTG - CTG easy win, 6+ points. A clonkill team in transition with Mitchell while CTG have more players back.
Raharney vs Daltons, Raharney by 8+ points with Killian and Robbie Greville back in the fold.
LLG vs Pollard, pollard by 6+ points. Pollard steadily improving and are a club riding the crest of a wave at the minute, league won, 1st round won, underage going well and fine facilities. Will have far too much for an average Gaels side who narrowly scrapped over a poor clonkill side

What's the story with all the Junior B games not being played and teams giving walk-overs. A waste of time if teams are not going to treat the competition with a bit of respect. Surely they have an idea of numbers available before entering a team..

Who gave walkovers, Ringtown in junior b and Castletown in junior A. I'd the say the issue of 3 games in 4, 5 or 6 days for some young players is part of it. Junior on Tuesday, U-19 on Thursday, some IHC on Friday, and the rest on Saturday and Sunday.

Some serious hurling to be done at junior B level. It should be sponsored by someone in the hurl making business to offset the outrageous amount of timber being broken by clubs at that level. Some clubs just can't afford to field a team such is the profligacy with ash plants in the Westmeath premier Junior B hurling competition. Trying to keep 15 intact hurls on the pitch is harder for some clubs than getting 15 hurlers out on the field. It's a trial of endurance for the club's who really want that silverware, ensuring they have enough money to keep 15 sticks on the pitch so that whenever some teams play the 2023 junior B final in November 2024, they can be proud of the victory by walkover.

Players don't even pull on a throw in anymore and invariably the referee gives a free when one player puts the leg in first

I've even seen a red card for a legitimate pull from a throw in

He's not too far off, I remember seeing a ref dummy the throw in at the start of a game, one of the lads pulled and the ref gave him a yellow... comical stuff.

Expecting close enough games, especially with the weather conditions.
Senior A;
CTG to beat Clonkill by 3-6pts,
Pollard to beat LLG by the same,
Raharney to beat Daltons by 6+
Senior B;
Delvin to beat The Wood by 6-10 pts
Brownstown & Ringtown to draw.
Plunketts to beat Cullion by 4-6 pts.
IHC
Turin to beat Brigids by 1-3pts
Southern Gaels to beat CTG

Great game between CTG and Clonkill last night, exciting the whole way through. Castletown edging it in the end. Niall O'Brien, Peter Clarke, David O'Reilly and Aonghus Clarke all impressive.
Clonkill are in trouble now with two losses and have yet to face Castlepollard and Raharney.
Fr Daltons could put it up to Raharney today and hopefully they do as they put in a great shift vs Castletown a couple of weeks ago.
Lough Lene Gaels and Castlepollard should be a cracker.

Still wouldn't be surprised if daltons took them, Gaels with inevitably lose a semi final again if they get there. Pollard on the other hand never showed up

Great for westmeath hurling to see all 3 championships still wide open after 2 rounds. Realistically all 6 senior A teams can still make a semi final. Great to see daltons doing well and are the first promoted team in a long time to keep 2 of the big 3 teams to only a few points, 8 goals in 2 games is good going. Senior B is wide open still but big shock to see delvin gone a step backwards, Ringtown seem to be in top form and look the team to beat so far which is good on their first year up. And intermediate as per every year is completely unpredictable and very hard to call a winner out of the 6 but for me i think castletown are the ones to beat

Lough Lene Gaels impressive winners over Pollard, Pollard too reliant on Allen Devine who scored about 10/11 points of their 1-13, Gaels attack looked lively with the 2 Williams and Derek Mc and Eoin Daly looking sharp, semi final spot at least the target for the Gaels, Pollard looked toothless in attack and vulnerable to the high ball, Derek McNich got two goals in this way. Raharney also looked ill at ease under high ball, conceding four goals in one half is worrying for them, they too very relient on Killian Doyle who scored maybe 12 points. Clonkill match vs Pollard will be vital. Whoever loses is in jeopardy
