Replying To Claretandblue:  "I see your point but they've a 100% record in the championship without him and he's obviously a serious operator but if I was manager he'd need to be training 2-3 week's minimum before championship match to warrant inclusion. Good prob for Joe Williams to have, they were not considered favourites to reach semi finals at outset of competition and now close to first final in 8 years."
100% record and seem to be playing their best hurling in a number of years, and with less of a squad than the last few years. Just goes to show what can be achieved with proper guidance and direction and highlights a total mismanagement of this team in the previous few years.

Replying To CleanShoulder:  "Could be witnessing the end of an era here in Cusack Park, Clonkill possibly exiting the championship before the knockout stages, pretty unprecedented. They have one big half of hurling ahead of them to stay in this championship and it's not looking too good for them. Castlepollard not great but Clonkill very poor so far…"
Well that was a turnaround. Excellent second half from Clonkill, used the wind well to pick off their scores and totally dominated when the stakes were highest. Castlepollard absolutely brutal after the break, totally rudderless and not one leader on the field.
Looking forward to the tie of the round, form book would suggest a Castletown victory but have a gut feeling for Raharney, hard one to call.

Don't agree with Gaels being mismanaged, unfair on previous managers, this year's squad has been boosted considerably in attack by Eoghan Daly and David Williams, they're both under 20s and this is first year to play senior regularly and physically be up to it, they've a potent forward line now with those two and Shane Williams, Derek Mc N. Jayo Malone has also improved significantly and more than contributes, they might not have strength in depth to win championship but seem guaranteed to reach semi already as Clonkill and Pollard can only reach six points and the Gaels have both on head to head and score difference at moment. Clonkill hugely impressive second half this evening, won second half 1-12 to 0-4, even allowing for wind it was statement victory, their match versus Raharney promises to be a belter, even more so if Castletown beat Raharney.

Is our top 3 effectively set in stone with all that's left to be decided who goes straight through to the final? Raharney, CTG LLG, still fancy Raharney to top group and CtG to take LLG in semi, pollard and daltons last round could now effectively be a relegation play off

No, Clonkill v Raharney in the last round is a big game. Too many permutations still with 2 rounds left.

Another good win for Turin in the Intermediate. St Brigid's and Raharney winning too. The IHC is looking interesting with very little between each team.

Our three championships are hugely competitive.Of the 18 teams involved only the Gaels have won all 3 matches and lets be honest who saw that coming.Round 4 in all three championships will be huge.

Raharney to beat LLG and clonkill, CTG to dispose of pollard and LLG, Raharney to qualify straight for final on the head to head with CTG, CTG to beat LLG in semi final- I can't see anything other than that permutation.
Pollard have shown how good they are which makes me think this Gaels team are extremely overhyped, they have 2-3 quite poor players on their first 15, what they have brought this year if a workmanlike mindset to each game but I don't think they have the quality or depth to reach the final

Who's overhyped the Gaels? They've won their three championship matches so far, that's hardly hype, not one poster here has mentioned them as potential county champions, they're almost certainly in semi final, that's not hype, it's fact.

We could still theoretically end up with 3 teams tied on 6 points each.
The way I see it panning out is CTG through to final on 8 points, then Raharney, LLG and Clonkill to be tied on 6 points each.
It would come down to scoring difference then to decide who goes through, or would there be a playoff? There has been a rule in recent years in the football that a team can't be eliminated on scoring difference, is the same rule there in hurling?

If it more than two teams on equal points then score difference is usually the way its sorted unless they firm a playoff scenario. But that will take two weekends to run.

that rule is long gone from. Moate were knocked out on scoring difference in 2021.

Clonkill won't beat Raharney

Why won't Clonkill beat Raharney? Clonkill are improving, Raharney also but hard to say definitively that Raharney will win

Niall Mitchell is in America but should be back for the Raharney game, Ciaran Nolan is back too and came on against Pollard on Saturday. Don't think they're missing anyone else, there won't be much between them & Raharney in the last round.
