Replying To Dheen:  "1-17 not a bad return for CTG minus their two star players in David O'Reilly and Peter Clarke, would have won with a bit to spare you'd imagine if they were there but hindsight is a great thing! Who was good for Castletown in their absence?"
I think thats a disrepctful comment to Na Piarsiagh. They beat a full strength Castletown in the under 19 final last year. Good to see Plunketts back competing in premier finals. Hurling needs a strong presence in Mullingar. They have the makings of a formidable senior team in the future going by underage teams in recent times. I think na piarsiagh will shade the final. Crazy late in the year for hurling. Final 22nd Dec??

I didn't intend for it to be disrespectful, Na Piarsaigh have some fantastic young hurlers like David Williams and Darragh Smith and should shade the final, David O'Reilly and Peter Clarke in my opinion are two nailed on starters for the county seniors and on the pitch at the same time would have made Castletown significantly stronger, that's all I meant by my comment. All quiet on the county panel at the moment too

i agree its not a great time but credit where its due when did our under 20's get 5 championship games in the summer/early autumn before.Knock out stages huge problem with Gaels,Castletown and Brownstown adult teams playing into november.Dont rule out Plunketts remember Clann Na Gael topped the league table although they were short a couple of players. Plunketts must be strong favourites for senior b next year.

Plunketts will be a mainstay team at Senior A after another two years along with Castletown, Lough Lene Gaels, Clonkill and Raharney. Pollard have a couple of exceptional young hurlers in McCormack and Gaffney but I feel they'll be fighting each season to hold on to that 6th spot. Could be very wrong of course. I was looking at the u12 championship table from this year and it makes for plenty of further promise for Westmeath hurling with a lot of clubs competing at Division 1 including Cullion and Delvin, Delvin topped the table. Its positive to see a lot of these clubs improving the standard at underage each year.

I would not worry about Pollard.Clan Na Gael won under 14, semi final 16s,competitive at minor and semi final under 20.Underage hurling in county is improving so i think we are going to have more competitive championhips in the future. The Gaels have reached the level of the current big 3 and Plunketts have the potential but it will take 4 or 5 years. If hurling continues to grow in the south maybe Daltons can be a force. The biggest worry for me is St Vincents who unlike Na Piarsaig and Clann Na Gael is not working.

St Vincent's will improve but it will take time. The nursery / younger age groups in the Wood is upping its game.

8 point win for LLG against Clonkill in the junior. Shame the way this competition has been ran this year with only 3 teams

Pollard and Raharney pulled out I think. There was 9 teams in the junior B, Daltons won it last year but there must be no promotion, they're playing Southern Gaels on Sunday in this years final.

The clubs who reached the final of intermediate and senior b had a huge advantage coming into semi finals as the teams in other group had not played a game for over 8 weeks
