Replying To LockLeanGayl:  "I believe that Brendan Shaw excused himself from the process to be impartial with a club mate of his shortlisted

I also believe Derek wasn't present for all of the interviews. One candidate was interviewed by just Frank, Willie and Pat"
You are very interested in this & seem to know a lot about what's happening. Inside job?

Left full is great for the conspiracy theories. They love a conspiracy in Raharney... But getting back to the point I can see the board staying internal. Going for a man who left his previous role under a cloud won't be appealing to the hurling man on the street. Players should have an input but not decide the manager. Let's trust the board to make right decision. I'd say decision is made and just waiting for football championship have it's place this weekend. Let's back our own coaches we've enough of the outside cv builders.

In fairness to Fortune I think he put alot of himself into your team. I don't think he was only there to build his CV.

Loaf of bread pod has it that Bulfin is the new man

Lots of rumours from sources in the know that Bulfin is the new manager, somewhat surprising but only fair to wait and see if it's official and see his credentials, he's got lots of experience involved with teams, the two local men interested must be thinking that it's going to be an outside manager from now on.

If thats true the local men will be very disappointed.Bulfin as a coach great record.2 years with Meath hardly a good advertisment to manage us.Thinking about it I find it hard to believe.Lets wait.

Great record as a coach? really?

Paul Kinnerk was Clare coach in 13, then they brought in Donal Og when Kinnerk left…

He wasn't head coach in Wexford either

On Davys coat tails then went to Meath on his own, won a Christy Ring they were the absolute clear favourites to win and left after the league the following year

A seriously underwhelming appointment

Gutted for Johnny and Kevin, can we just assume now there will never be an internal manager?

Really hope that's just rumours because it's a shocking decision if it is.

They wont be announcing it.They will be proposing it to the clubs who can reject their recommendation.Management will be trying to get the football clubs onside. But if the majority of the hurling clubs reject him Bulfin must see the game is up.

Have heard from lads in the club that Johnny and Kevin have both told people that they haven't got it and that Bulfin is the choice of the county board

In other managerial news Ian Corrigan has stepped down as manager of the minors and Kevin O'Brien has stepped down as manager of the U20s so both roles now vacant
