Replying To tickets:  "I believe Gaoth Dobhair had no other option for goals? Odhran is carrying an injury I was told.

Not sure on Mark.

We can't be getting ahead of ourselves because we best Clare. Derry still are the top team Ulster"
Yeah I think Dáithí Roberts could be out for the year and backup keeper Sweeney was injured as well.

Replying To Commodore:  "It's hard to see the current frail Donegal squad getting over a Derry team fancied as outsiders for the All Ireland since last season, I think a full strength Donegal squad could beat this Derry team and anyone else in Ulster, but its a bridge too far for this team. Great improvement against Clare, but I just can't see us staying with Derry over 70 minutes.

However the win against Clare definitely gave me hope, It would probably be the shock of the year if we manage to win against Derry or Monaghan and make the last 12 or 8 of the All Ireland."
Yeah I have a fear that Derry might have gotten a bad performance out of their system post their Ulster final success. It's a pity we couldn't have played them last weekend, might have been a chance to catch them on the hop. All very quiet again this week. It doesn't feel like a Championship week heading into a bank holiday weekend.

Yeah I agree it doesn't feel like Championship, it lacks a certain edge or something, like games feel very National League like. I think there is confusion over when fixtures are on and also too many games are not televised.

I don't want to be critical of the new format, as I do think it is the way to go.

Any near county standard players or serious future prospects in the squad outside of MacNiallais and Gillespie? I think I remember Donal Mac Giolla Bhride being on the county development squads.

Any word on the enquiry into the academy? Due to be completed today.

Our GDM is off to New York to coach for the summer. Not sure what part of his remit that comes under...

I thought the GAA investigation report into Donegal GAA Academy and finance management etc was to be released yesterday, yet nothing in the news.

Looks like McMenamin and MacCealbhuí are back in contention for this weekend but it will possibly come too soon for McBrearty. It will be a very tough game but all we can ask is that the lads go out and give their best. I do not believe that Derry are all that much better than us. If we didn't have the sideshow stuff and injury list we do I'd be quietly confident of doing a number on them in Ballybofey.

My team assuming all raring to go:

1. Patton

2. Curran
3. McCole
4. McMenamin

5. Doherty/McColgan
6. Gallagher
7. Ward

8. McGonagle
9. McGee

10. Thompson
11. O'Baóill
12. Brennan

13. Gallen
14. McFadden
15. C O'Donnell

The timing of the release of this report couldn't be worse. The last thing we need now is more controversy in the middle of our championship season which could have an unsettling effect on the team.

The findings in the report are far more important than the championship season of one of our teams.

The timing of the report was designed to achieve this sentiment. Arrange the due-date for the middle of the All-Ireland series so that when it comes along the average supporter just wants the team to continue without any distractions. No doubt they will delay publishing the findings of the report until the season ends, but don't be surprised to see national outlets leak findings in the nights before the Derry and Monaghan matches.

Of course, if it was a genuine audit not a damage limitation exercise, Ulster GAA and Croke Park themselves would be publishing the findings immediately and not giving Donegal GAA the opportunity to control the narrative. I could be wrong.

The review ended yesterday. They have to compile the report now. I believe it goes to the county board then. God knows when it will be made available to clubs.

As far as I am aware the review is being discussed at CB meeting whenever that is.

Great to see Paddy back in the squad. If we can keep it tight until the last 5 minutes or so wouldn't it be great to see Paddy come on and repeat his 2021 heroics!

all a farce really. it will look terrible on the people who carried this out, but maybe their hands are tied by the top brass.

Wait until the Cubs see and digest the report. That's what partially got in this mess in the first place, airing our dirty laundry in public!!!!!
