I tried to post yesterday, but seems not to have made it past the moderator.

Then i awake this morning to rumours of a joint ticket with Aidan O'Rourke and Paddy Carr. Mother of God, if these rumours are true, we are set for a new low in Donegal football. The situation is going from bad to worse.

There is only one person responsible for the mess we are in. There's in no point in going over old ground, I have registered my feelings here on a number of occasions in the past, and stated my clear reasons for coming to that belief.

I would prefer at this stage now, that we suspend the recruitment until a new County Board Chairman is elected at Convention. The British Conservative Party are in better shape than we are.

Well to done to all the people who made this fabulous centre of excellence happen. Not much word about it on here. Mick Mc grath and the committee deserve alot of plaudits. Well done lads

Maybe not huge word as it's a project that's been ongoing for many years, it's not exactly a recent initiative. It's a fine job with though no doubt and huge well done to all. In more pressing news, I wonder when we will get a manager? Is the process still a secret? Britain will be into its third prime minster in the time we have taken to appoint someone.

It's way beyond a joke at this stage, the secrecy surrounding the appointment too, I think at this stage they'd be as well ask Michael to be player manager with a few of the retired 2012 men with him as selectors,
I don't want O'Rourke in anyway, such a shame the way this has been handled, I still believe we have the players to take on anybody if they are coached and manged correctly.
Hopefully it's a case of night is darkest just before the dawn, maybe they'll pull a rabbit out of the hat yet and surprise us all and get a good manager on board, I live in hope.

Here's an idea tirchonnall1 maybe county board go after micky moran for a couple of years as a mentor for MM to transition him into management of the county. He's a free agent after kilcoo now I think.

I think that County Board Chairman should do like McEniff did in 2003; I can't get anyone else, sure I'll do it myself.

Curious to know what your objections to O'Rourke and Carr are if as reported they are in line for the job.

County board meeting called for Monday night. Expected that a manager will be recommended to the clubs for ratification at that meeting.

Great day for the county with the opening of the centre of excellence. Disappointing to hear that they never sent an invite to the Donegal Lgfa board, especially at a time when the organisation is trying to bring all groups together.

If you think that things can't get any worse, that's how.

I was only half messing....

I hope the Clubs have a pair of Cajones tomorrow night and fail to ratify the Gruesome Twosome.

The message should be a resounding no, not only for the appointment, but also for the whole process. It has been an embarrassment.

Start the process afresh after County Convention.

Personally I hope Rory Kavanagh can be convinced to reverse his decision, once the problem is removed.

It looks like a o rourke and p carr are up for nomination tomorrow night. Good luck to them at least they went for it. Unlike a few who no doubt will have an opinion now.

Both were interviewed for the job separately and adjudged be not good enough.

Do you think they are good enough?

I don't know, nobody knows till there given a chance. If nobody in the county wants it gave it to them. The Donegal job is not as attractive as some people think. Nobody needs abuse when things are not going well real supporters will follow their team through thick and thin. All I would say is fair play to the two men but god help them at the same time..

I would agree it would be underwhelming but if Rory Kavanagh changed his mind at the last minute for whatever reason then the county board have been handed a mess. Not too many people interested in it that would keep people happy.

Well from my sources within a number of counties, from men that worked in county set ups, O'Rourke especially is not the calibre of man you want involved. I can't comment favourably or negatively on Paddy Carr.

Sure way back in 2008 or 2009 Jim Mcguinness was interviewed and they thought he wasn't good enough. Being rejected at interview might be more to do with the lack of knowledge the people conducting the interview have.

They weren't deemed good enough last week, but when the previously succesful candidate withdrew last Monday after the well debated issue that arose, it appears that there was then a scramble to get a new management team together.

I suggest that if there had been communication in the form of an apology forthcoming that the matter may have been resolved satisfactorily, and we could've had the preferred candidate.

What apology are you on about. Rory kav pulled out and what were board supposed to do. What people can't understand is very few want the job it's not a big job anymore, it's not a job that would attract a big name because of financial restrictions and rightly so. Who do you want
