Lads, Colmcille will not get relegated.
They are on 3 points now after their win at the weekend. They will beat Abbey and Clonguish.
Clonguish will not get anything from their remaining games and will finish bottom.
Connollys will finish bottom of the other group.
I'm not sure then, if it will be a play-off with Clonguish and whoever finishes 5th in the other group.
I was of the assumption there would be a play off considering the lop sided groups.

What I heard is, they play-off against the 5th place team in Group 6.
Bottom team in Group 2 goes down and loser of the play-off go down."
2 teams go down with 1 coming up from Fiv 2 as part of the 2 year cycle commenced last year to reduce the Division 1 to 10 teams . Quite possible that there will be changes next year again, if wrong clubs are relegated. Championship formats need to be addressed. No way are 12 fit to be in Connolly Cup

I know its 2 down and 1 up like last year.
But unlike last year we have an uneven group.
From what I was told, the bottom team in group 1 (group with 6 teams) is relegated.
The team that finishes bottom (5th spot) in Group 1 goes into a play-off with whoever comes 5th in Group 2 to see who the second team is relegated.
Does second spot in Division 2 then get a play-off with the loser of the Division 1 play-off?
Its just a pity the County Board have not decided what way they are doing it, or if they do make it public knowledge.
I'm assuming next year will be back to a full divison.

What do you mean 'if wrong clubs are relegated'?

I got the groups mixed up!
There are 5 teams in Group 1 and 6 in Group 2.
So what I heard was bottom of group 2 (6th place) relegated.
Bottom of group 1 (5th place) plays off with 5th place in group 2.

Enlighten me as to why the poster above said 'if the wrong clubs get relegated'?
Is this in reference to when Fr. Manning Gaels and Cashel were relegated from Senior football in the noughties and objected and got staying up?
Aren't both of these clubs Intermediate now?
So they'll hardly be objecting again when they are not even in Senior!!

They are having a cut at us and Cashel.
We get all the attention from that year but what people forget is, it was Cashel who put forward the proposal.
Cashel had the County Chairman at the time so it got voted through.
They could hardly relegate us then if they were keeping Cashel up.

I think its with reference to bottom of Group 1 being relegated - one of Killoe, Dromard, Abbeylara, Clonguish and Colmcille.
At the moment, the battle between Abbey Clonguish and Colmcille is going to be key over the next week. One win for either Abbey or Clonguish should see them survive.

It's a clear dig at Clonguish and Colmcille who are currently the likely candidates for the drop. If Clonguish get relegated we will attempt to rebuild from there

I think its either Abbey or Clonguish.
Home venue swings that game for Abbey.
It will be the only remaining game Abbey will win and Clonguish won't get anything from their remaining games.
Does second place in Division 2 get to play the loser of the play-off in Division 1?

Are there many from the minor teams from last year and previous year on the Clonguish senior team?
I heard at the weekend their whole half back line are from this years minor team.

They played Killoe in the league 2 months ago and had 8 minors on the team. I heard they were very understrength vs Dromard last weekend however missing a huge amount.

Missing a good few at the moment, Duggan being our main player is in the States. Quite a few young players have seen game time which is a plus. Going down to Division 2 would not be a big deal for these young lads so the implication that we would be objecting to it is just the usual stirring we see here

I'll be very interested to see what the teams were last night.
If Killoe were at full strength, then I'll tip my hat to Clonguish for proving me wrong.
If Killoe were not at full strength, then Clonguish just beat a second string team.

They're wrecked with injuries. Could very easily be relegated. Although even with that they should have won last night.
