I see above a comment about not having to listen to killoe, in fairness to them they had a point in the 1st half that wasn't given but was obvious for anyone in the stand and not a word about it since, they lost by a point could have been a different story. I would agree with that, Declan Reilly is still some player. Hard to call the final now. The Killoe and Clonguish jobs will be sought after jobs. Very poor by Dempsey not to win the championship with that Killoe squad (and Clonguish gone) considering i'm sure he's well looked after.

Decko Reilly is one of the greats. two terrible matches. didnt think any player stood out over the weekend. not there fault the way football is played these days its just awful!! county board need to be paying people to watch it instead of robbing them!!

I just want to say congratulations to St. Helens on winning the Junior B championship yesterday.

Senior, Intermediate and Junior A finals all on next Saturday."

A good bandwagoner, your first mention of ladies football too haha.
I was at the match myself yesterday, certainly a superb, well deserved win for the girls.
Uphill task to see the men add to the Championship cabinet however

Well if you were at the game you would know what the line ups were!! I didn't think you were interested in our team!!
I can name the team if you really want to....but that would just take up valuable space!!
Leah Donnelly hit 3-2 or 3-3
Mia Kiernan got 2 goals
Michelle Brady got the other goal and we had 2 or 3 other girls who chipped in with a couple of points.
Is that good enough for you?
How are ye fairing out for next week?
Ye should win it especially after ye entered into the transfer market to poach a few county players from Grattans.

Ah sure you have to jump on at some stage!!
A good mate of mine is involved with them so didn't want to jinx it on them by bringing it up prior to the final.

Replying To GAALONGFORD:  "To be honest I thought watching the game today, part of the reason Colmcille were going sideways was because Mullinalaghta had most of their players back defending also. Colmcille are far from the only culprits in this regard. What I would say though is when they went down to 14 they actually went to overdrive with it but you could hardly blame them and I actually thought they did an exceptional job managing the game through that period. Declan Reilly is still one of the best players in the county. Must be one of Longford's best ever players."
In a game, it only takes one team to take on a defensive approach to strangle the match. I'm sure Mullinalaghta would try and play ball if given the chance. Colmcille did what they had to do against Clonguish, even though it was fairly septic viewing.
Their approach against Mullinalaghta was the same. Defend 'en masse', slow build up, draw a free, pick off a score, shut up shop. Rinse, repeat!

It has landed them in a County Final and congrats to them on that. Little will they care about pundits who criticise their approach, but I do believe they have the footballers to deploy a less boring style. It's desperate to watch.

Definitely looked like a point. But you have to take the rough with the smooth. If it was at the very end, you might be entitled to kick up a fuss, but you can't go raking over everything. We had plenty of time to make up for it after but kicked 10 wides in the game, so it is what it is. Dempsey was always going to finish up this year, so Killoe would be in the market for a new manager anyway. A few of the older lads have been at it a long time - would expect them to call it a day.

Not sure about that just the 4 clubs with managementteams in place a few years and now gone out, im sure if clonguish win another minor this year it would be a straight transition for C Carey or maybe he's still with county 20s..

Carey will make the step up next year if offered the role. I'm sure he'll be very interested in it. His youngest son, Daniel is in his last year as minor, so he might feel now is the time to move up with them. I'm sure Killoe will probably go big again as there is plenty of money there for them to spend. But also, one of their former players is in the market for a new team and he could be tempted to take over the reigns. It won't be long now until we find out all the clubs who will be in the market for a new manager. 2 that definitely won't be is Abbey and Colmcille.

You are obviously in the know but there is no one there that old especially when you look at the age profiles of nearly every other team. I would be surprised to learn if any of your lads hung up the boots as there is still titles in that team.

Why is the refixed league relegation match between Dromard and Slashers being played in Mullahoran rather than in Drumlish or Killoe or Ballinalee or Colmcille or Granard or Ballymore etc.? I know Dromard's pitch is out of commission, but it seems idiotic to take it to Mullahoran.
