Replying To Leitrimforliam:  "It's a fantastic pitch but I think the location and the lack of stand may mean it will be held elsewhere.

I was at the Manorhamilton and Gortletteragh game in Gleragh on Saturday. Several players went down with ankle injuries due to the uneven surface. There was water lying all over the pitch. Also the field of play was littered with what looked to be dog faeces. Absolutely disgusting conditions. Not sure why the county board decided to hold the game there but Ballinagleragh really ought to be looking at themselves. No reason why any team should have to play in conditions like that. They knew a week in advance they were hosting the game and really should've had their facilities in the best shape possible. I'd be extremely disappointed if my own club treated two clubs playing a neutral venue game in our patch the same way."
Was there myself too conditions were poor even allowing for the weather conditions, the scoreboard wasn't got going until halftime and by that stage there was confusion about what the actual score was, the Manor management actually questioned it to the referee at half time. As for the game itself it was a dour tight game Manor better team overall but Gortletteragh were only a point down going into last quarter but a few costly wides and a calamitous goal conceded put Manor in control and they saw it out comfortably in the end. Manor will have their hands full with Annaduff on that showing while Gortletteragh will have to rebuild in intermediate ,might not be the worst thing for them as they are just not up to senior level at the minute however they will need some of their absent players back to be in contention at intermediate next year.

I'm completely and utterly offended at this post. We had offered our pitch out of the goodness of our hearts where no other venues were available. Most of the gate going to Leitrim GAA. I haven't a notion what you want us to do in regards to the conditions? Do you think we did a rain dance the night before? As in regards to the dog this issue has been fully dealt with

I'm sure the players were completely and utterly offended by the conditions. Fair enough you could do nothing about the rain I never said that you could. Besides the large amount of surface water sitting on the pitch the pitch is not playable even in dry conditions. It comes down to player welfare at the end of the day.

Youse might have got out a tractor and roller to save the ankles

That sounds pretty ominous for the dog.

They not that bothered about duty to clubs when they bring Melvin Gales to mohil and bring glenfarne to bornacoola as a natural venue

Exactly. A day out in Mohill is the highlight of a player's season. Imagine winning a game gloriously in Mohill and then striding down the town's famed high streets, purchasing the latest designer clothing and fashion.

Not a lot of options re suitable grounds. There may also be issues with broadband for live streaming. Allen Gaels wouldn't host intermediate qfs as they said too many games there. Drumkeeran have a good set up but the pitch isn't great. Manor isn't near ready for knock out games yet. Where else is there?

I see the UEFA Champions League have copied the Leitrim GAA Championship format. A few more teams but same idea!

One of the semi finals is in Pairc Sean at the weekend so the need for suitable neutral venues looks to be over for a while.

Gortletteraghs set up will be up there with Ballinamore and Pairc Sean when they get this new stand built.

i'm hearing Mohill have a few issues so i'm going to change and go with Fenagh,. Fenagh Ballinamore county final

You haven't lived if you haven't visited the many attractions in Mohill, that's for sure

Both are fixed for ballnamore. Heard gortletteragh have done a great job with the new pitch. Did they get any more car park space there?

I think Fenagh have their own issues aswel….. will come down to how the teams play on the day. Both teams not impressive in their last outings so should be interesting. Mohill to edge it.
