Replying To Primrose_and_blue:  "It's been fairly quiet the last week alright. Bohan seems to be the name linked but the fact he turned it down before I'd have doubts about whether he would have changed his mind. Personally I'd be going all out for Cian O'Neill, he has worked wonders with Galway this year and I think there would be a chance of him leaving for a division 1 management gig. Realistically do we have the resources to attract someone of that calibre though? I really don't think anyone internal has the credentials, Flanagan would be the only one possibly but would have some reservations there too. His style works well for Pearses with the type of players they have but our slow transition and lateral handpassing was a major issue this year and is outdated at county level now where it is all about quick transition from back to front."
No we don't have anyone inside the county that will bring the best out of this team. I heard Bohans name a few times but also heard he's waiting on Dublin men's job if Farrell steps away which I don't think he will. O'Neill seems to be a better coach than manager from what I hear. I just hope we get the right man with a strong coaching team behind him. Looks like solan is front runner for mayo which would leave Buckley available for any manager that comes in. Have we the money to bring in a big name with strong backroom team is the question

Replying To Seanfanbocht:  "O'Neill seems to be a good no 2 or assistant manager.
Wasn't great as a manager with Kildare, his native County.
Co Board asking Clubs to submit nominations this week.
So are they either starting a long process or have someone lined up but want a Club to nominate them.???"
Never like that tbh

Any mention of Liam Kerins? Would he be able to attract fellow Kerryman Buckely in should McStay not get the Mayo job?

Replying To D.Hyde:  "Western Gaels favourite for relegation?? They were very poor in the first half at the weekend but I don't think they are the worst team in the championship. They will need to improve to beat either Clan or Faithleachs but I certainly don't think they will go down."
Possibly not the worst but I can see Faithleach's beating them and that would leave a relegation battle with potentially Tulsk and Elphin and who knows what can happen at that stage.

Anyone in the Clann club would completely disagree.

Seems we are interested in Stephen Rochford and Malachy O'Rourke is another name going around with a strong backroom team

I think the teams of the week highlight the standard of quality outside of the top two teams in each championship. A lot of the names have either featured on county teams already with a lot of them fringe players on either senior squad or u20 squad.

The intermediate championship this year is particularly poor with feurty not as strong in recent years or Eire Og for that matter. With Oran and Faithleachs gone out of it there can only be one winner on paper and that is Dominics but their biggest threat will be themselves.

Hard to look by Pearses or Bridgids this year again and they gave us a thriller of a semi final last year. Don't see Clan doing anything this year despite having players to return but struggled over a faithleachs team last week also short 3 or 4 players from all Ireland semi final team. Despite some comments on here about Liam Kearns he did fierce well to get Clan as close as he did over past two years consodering they were in relegation battle 3 years ago. Boyle could be finalists but have come up short in past few years against the bigger teams. There are 4/5 teams that could all get relegated but the lob sided nature of 2 of the 3 groups will result in at least one average team staying senior and getting a trimming in a quarter final.

Is there a case for the senior championship to be 10 teams, intermediate to be 10 teams and the remainder junior.

No smoke on either senior manager or u20 manager. County board caught off guard apparently for senior position even though it had to be ratified by the clubs so why it took 7 weeks for a conclusion and even worse 4 months for u20. Liam Tullys term was up so why was there no request for club nominations even if Liam Tully was to apply again. Rumour has it last years minor manager Enda Nugent has applied for same and Shane Curran has applied also. Wonder which nominee Bridgids proposed given both are from that club.

Stephen Rochford doesn't seem like he's interested in management at the moment and seems to be content to go forward as a coach on various tickets. Malachy O'Rourke is a great manager but would he come west across the Shannon? If I was Donegal I'd be doing all possible to bring him on board.

10 team Senior and Inter is the way to go......but Turkeys will hardly vote for Christmas.
Some Counties don't allow B teams into the 3 Main Championships, they have them in their iwn B or Reserve Championships. Should we do likewise if we go 10/10/8?
Re Rochford is this real or is CB just dropping names to journalists to keep the punters happy?

Little over a week since Cunninghams departure and so far Bohan, Rochford linked to replace him by the independent and Examiner. The Irish Times are next to link us with someone then perhaps the Irish news will have some Northern candidate mentioned.

Be interesting to see how many are actually interviewed for the post. Malachy O'Rourke turned down Meath when asked and may choose Donegal if they ask him.

Former County players Vincent Glennon, Paul Earley, David O'Connor will be part of the selection committee.

Analyser. Are any internal Roscommon candidates getting a serious mention or do we seem certain to go for an outside Manager.

None thus far but early days yet in a usual long drawn out county board process. Enda Nugent 2021 minor manager seems like the front runner for the U20 job. Knows all the players having coach them at U14 U16 also.

Handy with his son playing, will he bring in our current u17 manager with him which he has done previously.

I am puzzled at the lack of movement on the manager front. Championship has started and if a new man insofar as an outsider comes in he won't have a clue about the players etc. Unless the co board employ a local man, eg Tully its very risky. Who is the chairman there? Surely this laissez faire attitude has to be laid at his door. It should be hurried up IMHO but if not the chairman needs to be answerable.
