Took in 3 games at the weekend:

Pearses vs Boyle
We just done enough to get over the line - great to see dairee cregg and Cian Mckeon back for boyle. talking to afew from boyle i dont think mckeon will play county next year. Still think there will be a kick in boyle if their forwards click as they have the best forward line in roscommon.
We have a good bit of improving to do to challenge brigids.

St Josephs Vs Roscommon Gaels
Josephs had the chances and will be sick they didnt get over the line. Gaels grinded it out and got impact off the pitch. Johnny Mannion for St josephs was absolutely outstanding could defintely play at a higher level. Finn Killon best for the Gaels.

Pearses vs kilbride
We threw it away and look like its back to junior. Ryan dowling to the fore for Kilbride. County board not thinking of supporters having such a gap between the two games.

Be a massive blow if Cian doesn't play county next year with talks of McCormack not committing either and Ciaran murtaghs days at county are over from what I have heard. We will never reach our full potential if we can't keep a team together. Such a shame

Replying To rossie4sam:  "With Lar Wall now departing it leaves us again with no coach. That's 3 coaches in 3 years departing after just a year in the set up? Where do we go next."
Burke is the problem.

Not gone yet he's linked to vacant manager roles and remains to be seen if he gets any of them. Even if he stays we still need a new additional coach as only one of McHugh,McGowan was replaced this year.

On Cian McKeon nothing has been decided yet for the year ahead, just back from his year of travelling and focusing on Boyle. If Ciaran Murtagh doesn't return then that's him retired from inter county football without making it public.

Some interesting games this weekend:

Boyle v Castlerea: Hard to look past anything but a Boyle win here. Daire Cregg and Cian McKeon have both returned to bolster the Boyle attack and they will fancy a good run at the Championship for a 3rd year in a row. Castlerea probably happy to retain Senior status on their 1st campaign back - coming out of a tough group also.

St. Dominics vs Tulsk: Has the potential to be a cracking relegation play off. Very little between both teams - expect a tight affair. Neither team will want a last game shootout with Western Gaels. Predicting Dominics here by 2/3points but Tulsk have the ability to come out of these scraps with a win

St. Faithleachs v North Roscommon: Hard one to call - on paper, St.Faithleachs should be winning comfortably. But I am not sure what teams are participating for n. Roscommon (maybe someone could elaborate) - I have heard that some Strokestown players are considering along with Kilglass, Ronans, Shannon Gaels. Hard to see them being able to contain the Murtagh Brothers and break Faithleachs defensive system down. Going with Faithleachs here by 6/7 points.

As expected a routine win for Boyle, Castlerea will be happy to stay up but today with a mainly side showed they aren't ready to be competitive against county championship contender, In defeat today Adam McDermott,John Curran and Shane Keenan was good. Cian McKeon,Niall O'Donnell set the ball rolling for Boyle in the 1st half and Oisin Cregg got in for a goal. Donie Smith came to life 2nd half with 1-2. Its Boyle or Pearses next for Brigids in the last 8 so long as North Ros don't pull off a shock against Faithleachs on Tuesday.

Boyle and Pearses no doubt feverishly praying for North Ros!

Thought oisin had a good game. Very strong and powerful from wingback and could and probably will get a chance next year with Roscommon. Cian McKeon also was very good.

Faithleachs 8 points winners against North Roscommon. Dominic's retained senior status with a 11 point win v Tulsk. Western Gaels v Tulsk relegation final now.

The draw was thrown up some very interesting ties

Quarter finals

St Brigids v Padraig Pearses
Roscommon Gaels v Boyle
Clan na nGael v St Faithleachs
Oran v Michael Glaveys

Semi finals

St Brigids or Padraig Pearses v Clan na nGael or St Faithleachs
Roscommon Gaels or Boyle v Oran or Michael Glaveys

Was at the Faithleachs/North Roscommon game . A comfortable win for the Ballyleague men. It's hard to see the Divisional format staying on in Roscommon - only one divisional team and apparently 3/4 clubs put no players forward to represent the North. Had only 5 points scored in 60 mins until mistakes from the keeper on the last 2 kickouts gave North Roscommon 1-1 to take some gloss off the scoreline.

Draw has some interesting ties:

St. Brigits v Padraig Pearses: Tie of the round. Brigits have been in cruise control so far and face their first real test against a Pearses team who on their day are more than a match for the Kiltoom outfit. If Brigits are going to be beaten, it will only come at a quarter final or semi final stage. Going to go bold and say Pearses by a point!

Boyle v Ros Gaels: Another cracker of a game. Boyle will be eyeing a 3rd county final in a row after avoiding the 3 main big hitters. Roscommon Gaels will also see this as a serious opportunity =. Expect a tight game but a Boyle win by 1/2 points.

Clan na Gael v St. Faithleachs: Clan should be comfortable winners here going by the group stage games. They looked sharp against all 3 teams in a tough group and have a mix of young and experienced players. Faithleachs can let the shackles off and go for it - could make for an interesting game. Clann to have too much and win by 5+

Oran v Michael Glaveys: Both sides failed to shine until the last game of the group and arguably both got the draw they would have wanted. Glaveys are discipled and will look to frustrate the Walsh brothers scoring threat. Oran should win by 3/4 points but if glaveys can stick to their defensive system and get Glennon firing, they could be in the mix

5 teams in the running with Brigids looking the likeliest.
3 Clubs making up numbers and hoping for a decent performance.

Agree that it was a comfortable win for faithleachs. Clann will not fear them in quarter final.
Regional format needs some time. Challenging for those involved and for the county board. It is a positive idea and probably needs some tweaks

See st brigid's game v pearses is on TG4. Good for the players and clubs getting exposure and looking forward to going to The Hyde to watch what should be a good game with the green and red men winning by 2

Boyle and the Gaels should be another excellent game. I fancy Boyle here with the experience

Clann like I said should be to strong for Ballyleague lads and I am going for Glaveys to beat Oran

Any word on Pearce frost and Ben O'Carroll. If both are fit I'd be confident in a st Brigid's win but if they aren't Pearce's have a chance here

Ben not fit. Only had operation. Not sure on Pearse frost. Pearses always have a chance. Big game for both teams an it on tg4 too. Good exposure for the championship in Roscommon. Think we will have just about to much for them.

Firstly wasn't to be for the Roscommon Masters against a very strong Tyrone outfit. To reach the All Ireland final off the back of unbeaten group was a good achievement by our over 40 year olds and will be coming back for more in 2025.

At club level it's Tulsk who have fallen through the trap door in what was a good contest in a sunny Castlerea that could have swung either way and was won with basically the last attack of the game. Western Gaels continue to hang on to their senior status a habit in recent years. Tulsk had 5 years in the senior grade when many was predicting them to go straight back down after year one.

After the Intermediate Quarter final draw it's hard to look part Eire OG,Fuerty,Strokestown,Elphin winning and if they do we'll have two semi finals that will be hard to call in Fuerty v Strokestown and Elphin v Eire OG

The Junior A quarter final draw

Ballinameen v Kilglass Gaels

St. Aidan's v Clann na nGael B

Boyle B v St. Barry's

Western Gaels B v Roscommon Gaels B

Semi-Final Draw:
Ballinameen/Kilglass Gaels v Boyle/St. Barry's;
St. Aidan's/Clann na nGael v Western Gaels/Roscommon Gaels
