Do we see anyone get near Brigids this year? They look ominous going by their league form. 3 of the next 4 in the odds are in the same group - Pearses, Boyle and Clann. I have a sneaky feeling about Clann this year and think they may be the ones to put it up to their neighbours the most.

Won't go into any detail on here but too much internal nonsense with Clann to expect them to mount a challenge.

Zero value on Brigids with those odds. Good value on Pearses who lets not forget won a few county titles and a Connacht title recently and Boyle lost the last two finals by 1 point and should be there or thereabouts again.

Eire OG and Strokestown look like two main contenders for the intermediate title. In Junior Aidans need to bounce straight back or could find themselves stuck at the level for a while much like Barrys have done."
The "Internal nonsense" didn't seem to effect clann in the last 5 minutes tonight."]My last post had that game down for a draw and was won by Ciaran Lennon free with the last attack of the game. @brigidstoom summed the game up well. Clann bench impact made a big impact but then against I can imagine O' O'Flaherty,C Lennon will be starting other games. Pearses will be left to wonder how they didn't win never mind losing, fluke of goal in added time to level up the game didn't help. Scorers in the match. Pearses - J Nevin 1-1,A McGreal 1-0,E Kelly 0-3 1f,D Kenny 0-2,R Daly 0-1 1F,L Daly 0-1,N Daly 0-1,J Tumulty 0-1 and Clann E Kenny 1-1; F Lennon 0-4, 3f, C Lennon 1-1, T Lennon 0-1, O O'Flaherty 0-1,A McManus 0-1;, D McManus 0-1f,D Summer 0-1

I'm off to Castlerea v Roscommon Gaels this afternoon hopefully another decent game.

Roscommon 8 point winners in a windy O'Rourke Park in front of a big crowd. Castlerea had a surprise at half time lead due to scoring 1-3 without reply in the final 7 minutes of the half, Gaels wouldn't have been happy with the manner they conceded the goal and few other scorers and that period was Castlerea best in the game. 2nd half 2-8 to 0-4 tells it's own tale and the Gaels 2nd goal on 55 minutes on the counter attack from a turn over sealed the win.

Scorers Roscommon Gaels Peter Gillooly 0-4, Cian Connolly 1-1 , R Carthy 0-4 2fs, Mark Purcell 0-3 2fs, J Connolly 1-0, J Donnelly 0-1,R Conlon 0-1,M Healy 0-1 and Castlerea Adam McDermott 0-7 6fs, N Connaughton 1-1, D Brennan 0-1,M Kelly 0-1,

Big 2nd half by Ros Gaels!!
Brigids haven't gone away.. big win 0-17 to 0-6.

Pearses won't be finding any forwards from their B team ....2 points in a Championship game!!

I think Oran could be in the mix for the drop. They're down a lot of big players. Castlerea v Oran will be very interesting.

Roscommon Gaels will not be happy with their first half performance. Much better in the second half in their control of the game.

Comfortable win for St Brigid's against Glaveys. 16 points from play out of 17points. Work rate and tackling were brilliant. Still missing a few big players and the squad has good depth

Thanks folks for keeping those of us who no longer live in the county up to date with the local championship results.
Is there a problem with the Roscommon Gaa website at the moment or maybe the problem
is at my end?

Clann nearly scored a goal just before from a long ball in which caused havoc and resulted in a point.
Great win for Tulsk same old story with Oran.
Brigids won comfortably as most expected. Was a surprised that was the streamed game as was never going to be anything other than one sided

Present the trophy to Brigids. The only question is who will get to the final to play them and lose. Surprised to see Oran lose to Tulsk. A lot of players from a wide spread of clubs away at the moment.

Brigid's are a freak team to be honest. They could dominate Roscommon club football for years.

Just a quick question in the junior championship if for instance Barry's Joe's and kilglass all finished bottom of their respective groups can a first team be regulated to junior b? Would there be any relegation? Or if only two first teams finished bottom would the third "b" team go down automatically?

First teams don't go down to JB.
As far as I know the lowest B team, or play offs among B teams to see who goes down.

Is St Faithleachs vs Western Gaels the only game down for decision this weekend the Roscommon Gaa site seams to be down?

Pure joke. The likes of St Joseph's should be relegated years ago and they most probably wouldn't win Junior B. Needs overhauling.

No game this weekend. The powers that be have fixed the game for Saturday 24th August. Means both teams will be out 3 weeks in a row and if either finish 3rd, and then get to a 1/4 final, potentially 5 championship games in a row

I'd imagine there's a reason for not playing it this weekend?

I do agree it does need overhauling bit unfair on the Joe's boys, judging by league the were the best of the rest. Felt sorry for clann b who still got relegated from division 3 even though they finished above Barry's ballinameen kilglass and Joe's. On one hand is it turning the league pointless that teams would have nothing to play for after three matches, but on the other these teams are probably low on numbers if they are playing junior b will they be able to field at all? It might be harsh to say but is it worth while for some of these teams to join together as they have done underage?

Stupid comment - Joes have done more than hold their own in junior my own club had many a battle with them and we had afew seniors playing against them. Joes also had a very decent league.

I dont think there should be any B team in Junior A championship should be just first and the B teams have their own competition. The team the likes of a ronans or joes would play aginast in the first round of the championship to the last round of the championship is a much different team with lads getting pulled into the first team.

Joes wouldnt have been in a relegation battle the last number of years as they have got out of their group.

Open to correction, That would leave just six teams in the Junior A if just first teams in Roscommon, hardly enough to run a championship?
