Massive game Sunday. I'm worried if we give Derry the goal scoring chances we gave Down they will punish us. We need to be really solid in defence it's a massive step up from what we have faced yet. This needs to be a 70 minutes performance on Sunday nothing less will do. If we play to our full ability we can win so hopefully that's the case. Also hope we get a massive Roscommon following on Sunday and get behind the team

The BIG one Sunday.
Will tell us where we're at at present.
Defending isn't and hasn't been our strong point for many a day so we'll be depending on getting a good share of possession and our forwards converting it into enough scores to beat the high flying favourites.

Roscommons best wins since 2019 against the likes of Galway, Monaghan, Armagh etc have all come due to holding those teams to low scores.

If Derry are allowed to score a couple of goals on top of a near certain 13 to 15 points they will get on Sunday its hard to see anything but a Derry win.

Huge game for yee this weekend. Derry a very strong defensive unit against a Roscommon team who are scoring well. The game of the weekend. I think derry will shade it just about

Ya it's going to be interesting to see where both teams are right now.

It should be a great game, latter end of the league and two teams battling for promotion for Division one.
I am not around to go to the game this weekend and am disappointed to see it won't be available on GAAGO! Surely this day and age these games should all be made available on streaming platforms at the very least!

Very surprised Roscommon at 6/4 for Sunday. I don't get all the hype about Derry to be honest and that is not saying they can't beat Ross on Sunday.

Derry got promoted from a group with Fermanagh, Cavan and Longford. On the other side was Offaly, Limerick, Tipperary and Wicklow and none of the rest would survive in Div 2. Similar to ourselves Derry have played nobody of note only Clare when we drew with but conditions for both matches were chalk and cheese.

If Ross don't win Sunday I fear what will happen us in a connacht final v a Galway or Mayo and that's not disrespecting Sligo who are struggling in Division 4.

I will certainly be having a score on Ross on Sunday and if that turns out to be a fool and his money etc so be it but at least then the hype around the new players and midfield will be put to bed.

Just the one change to the starting 15 with fit again David Murray restored to the starting line up. Cathal Heneghan surprisingly drops out when has been a ever present this year (hopefully not a injury related change) Conor Daly and Hussey both back in training will hopefully be on the bench.

On the odds not that surprised, the punters placing their cash on would look at Derry top of the table with the best defensive record across the 4 divisions by some distance and only a few teams have scored more than their 17 points per game average. A lot of their hype is built up for their high profile manager who against the odds led Fermanagh to a Ulster final and was main coach behind the Donegal 2012 All Ireland winning team, lastly their championship performance last summer whereby they should have beaten Donegal in Ballybofey is fresh in the memories while we made our championship exit in a very disappointing way.

So far we were comfortable winners against Cork,Meath and had it all too easy v Down. Can use the excuse of the weather for the Clare match but for me the points was dropped there because of our last of intensity 1st half and decision making and failure to close the game out at 9-6. (this can not be repeated against Derry)

This game is the opportunity to make up for that silly point dropped and I'll see it as significant step forward if we can pull off the win tomorrow, Best of luck to the Roscommon players and management.

Tough one tomorrow alright.
Derry have ticked all the boxes to date while we have spluttered mixing the good, the bad and the ugly.
Lose tomorrow and we will in all likelihood be stuck in Division 2 for another year, win and we should be on the high road to D1.
D2 could have Dublin and Tyrone in it next year so best to get out in 22.

Today's game against Derry is the first I've missed this league campaign. Had to switch off Willie as the nerves couldn't handle him. It seems like the draw was a good result in the end. Derry seemed to have the goal chances. If we beat Galway and Offaly that should secure promotion. It's a big ask but possible. Who were the main performers for us today?

Mixed feeling about that result. 10-4 ahead a side of our experience should have the know how to least earn a narrow win against the wind but at 12-11 and Derry with the man advantage we showed good character to grab a draw from the jaws of defeat.

We had goal chances 2nd half where a bad pass or poor decision making prevented us for getting one that would have won that contest. Derry best chance for a goal was before half time which Lavin saved but how the officials didn't give us a free in beforehand or stop play was bizarre. Got very little off that very fussy ref whom has been harsh on Roscommon teams before. The amount of antics he ignored by Derry on and off the field was ridiculous

I thought our best on show was Harney, Nolan, Murray and Doyle was impressive when introduced. Two must win games left or its Div 2 football again in 2023.

We should have won in my opinion. Maybe people saw it different to me. How the ref didn't play advantage to Heneghan for the goal scoring chance IL never know. Did anyone see something I didn't. The ref had no control of game and went against us a lot. Thought our lads showed serious character in second half especially playing alot of it with 14 men. It's in our hands to get promoted I feel. We can't take Offaly lightly or we will get caught

Can I start a petition to get the ear splitting manic noise that was pumped out from the speaker in the stand before the game banned?? Arrived early for the match in order to get a seat high up and away from any rain, tried unsuccessful to have a conversion with an old buddy but failed miserably. Does someone think this adds to the atmosphere or something ?. Obviously copied from English league and other sporting venues. God be with the days when you could have a bit of banter as you waited for the games to start. Does anyone agree with me?

If Roscommon win our last two games, I think we're promoted. That's not a bad place to be. We need to avoid any slip up against Offaly and then a big match at home to Galway.

I think you're right - win the two games and we're promoted. Best scenario for us would be if Galway can beat Derry next weekend - it will guarantee them promotion if they do (as they will be 3 points ahead of Derry with a game left). If we can beat Offaly then they will be coming to the Hyde already promoted. If Derry were to overturn them there it would be a straight shoot out in that game between Roscommon and Galway for promotion. On today's game, the referee was horrendous towards us I felt. Good character shown in the end to salvage a draw. We have a tendency to go long spells without scoring - it must have been 25 minutes in the second half today.

Ref done Derry out of a win, couple that with your cheating and you'll get a truer picture.
