Ah the great rumour mill in full flow. How many times has AC said the missing players would be back from Pearses and St. Faithleachs.

Both Murtaghs played v Westmeath last Wednesday night in AIT. In fact one pass Diarmuid have Ciaran was out of this world and it was similar to the pass he gave Connolly for the goal in Connacht final in 2017.

I'd expect no more than 1/2 of the miasing regulars to be back in starting 15 this Sunday with the rest on the bench to come on.

The three u20s are meant to have withdrawn from panel to focus on the u20s and heaven knows they will be needed as the u20s have suffered three defeats in past three weekends of which the last two were comprehensive beatings from Kildare and Laois. Not as many from last year as first anticipated due to injuries and rugby. What was meant to be 11/12 of starting team last year is now down to 8 from last year's team best case scenario.

Sligo who have had the edge on roscommon in recent years at minor will really fancy their chances in u20 semi in April.

Just shows that opportunity has to be taken when it's there. We had a real chance to win the U20 All Ireland last year. We mightn't be as close again for some time.

Ah we should be stronger come championship, I know off top of my head Paddy Gavin, Tomas Crean, Sean Trundle, McDermott, Cregg and O'Carrol are underage again, am I missing anyone. The likes of Conor Hand, Colm Neary, Oisin Cregg and Shane Walsh will more then likely feature so it's a decent team with 3 exceptional forwards at that level. But agree we had an unbelievable chance in August and it would still annoy ya the chances missed in the first 10/15 minutes, it was on TG4 over Christmas and I couldn't watch it would make ya sick. Please god we can challenge for Connacht anyway and see where we go.

Rossie2020 probably shouldn't believe all he hears and not wise to post about rumours.

SmokieRoss, so along as no further injuries i would expect unchanged team with Pearses,Faithleach players to be used as impact subs. Who are the three U20s? Ben O'Carroll,Adam McDermott and ??

We were never going to have 11/12 of last years U20 starting team . Of those that started the All Ireland Final C Carroll,C Walsh,J Lohan,K Doyle,J Fitzpatrick,D Gaughan,R Dolan are all overage now and Ronan Garvin who was a starter prior to doing his ACL remains out and it was widely expected last year that Fallon would choose the rugby path.

The Leo Murphy cup coming up Friday it will give a better idea to how strong of a panel we are currently working from, results of those matches not overly important but there is a need to be competitive and have a decent system in place before the championship and tricky opener against Sligo.

We created enough goal scoring chances to win last years AI final but worth remembering few inside or outside the county even expected that Roscommon team to win Connacht before the championship started.

I still look back at the missed opportunities at U21 level in 2013 and 2016, two Connacht finals we should have won comfortably but didn't because we were wasteful and didn't get the rub of the green. Was no Dublin 2014,2012, or Tyrone 2015 in those All Ireland series.

Interesting comment by James O'Donoghue on the recent offtheball podcast claiming it might have been better if Cork U20s had lost the All Ireland in 2019, he said a lot of those players see themselves as stars already without establishing themselves at senior level, losing finals can focus the mind for young fellas and they can become more determined to prove a point once given their senior opportunity he said. I might add he was part of Kerry U21 team that shipped a 20 point hammering off Cork.

Cathal Henegahn after changing Sigerson Cup final with 3 points inside 10 minutes looks so dangerous, can only bode well for us! Great to see!

Well done to Cathal Heneghan some impact off the bench and given man of the match. Conor Carroll looked very steady in goal. A Pity Paul McGrath missed out due to injury.

See we we are playing Mayo tomorrow evening in Bekan, what players have we added from last 2 minor teams and are we missing anyone?

Darragh Heneghan, Eoin Colleran are out injured. Adam McDermott won't be playing for Roscommon tomorrow as he has a trench Cup final with GMIT. Conor Lohan unlikely to be playing after playing yesterday for Athlone college.

All games tomorrow of course in doubt with these storm weather warnings

Have we a chance Sunday against ye

In regards to Adam McDermott the GMIT match getting called off helped. I personally wouldn't have played either.

A losing start for the U20s by 3 points in a very cold night in the Connacht GAA Centre. Left ourselves too much to do with the slow start when 8 points down. Closed the gap to 1 but that was as good as it got however we were wasteful on some decent goal scoring chances created.

Starting team

Cian Feely (Kilbride)
Conor Lohan (Pearses)
Alan McManus (Clann)
Eoin Ward (Fuerty)
Cormac Regan (Oran)
Sean Trundle (Brigids)
Paddy Gavin (Clann)
Oisin Cregg (Boyle)
Cian Glennon (Faithleachs)
Conor Hand (Brigids)
Daire Cregg (Boyle)
Josh Lennon (Clann)
Adam McDermott (Castlerea)
Cathal Feely (Boyle)
Conor McLeod (Erin go Bragh)

and subs brought on

Jamsie Greene (Éire Óg) Caelim Keogh (Pearses) Michael Staunton (Oran) Darren Gately (Creggs)

Donegal at home up next no venue or date confirmed. Hopefully it doesn't clash with the seniors game in Newry.

Both changes from the Meath game was forced due to injured. Team will line out as selected providing no late knocks before throw in.

I'm expected a tough competitive battle in testing weather conditions tomorrow against a Clare team who have held their own in this Division two over the last 6 years. They are strong in midfield with two powerful lads in Cathal O'Connor, Darren O'Neill and have plenty of good scoring forwards in Jamie Malone, Eoin Cleary,Keelan Sexton, David Tubridy.

Best of luck to Roscommon tomorrow.

Don't sell yourself short. Clare are established top 12 team and are the second best team in Munster.
