Pearses vs Clan senior final

Going to be a very close game this and very hard to call could go either way was in the Hyde for both semi finals. Cracking game on Saturday be interesting to see if our appeal for Conor Daly red is overturned could be a game changer

Dom's vs faithleachs
Will faithleachs make a return to the top flight or can the Dom's do a job on them. Faithleachs will worry about there second half collapse vs Castlerea today but when you have the murtaghs your not gunna be far off

Junior S/F
Brigid's vs Dominics
Brigid's looking the clear favourites to win the junior title this year looking by far the strongest junior team. Dom's have some nice young players but don't think they will have enough for Brigid's

St Joseph's vs pearses
Pearses beat the joes by two points in the opening round of the chpionship this year so I think this will be a close one again. Joes took a huge scalp yesterday vs Kilglass will that be what's drive them on to go one step further and get to a final. We have lost a couple of players to the senior team so i think this will go down to the wire. Joes now Roscommon representative in Connacht id say there was some parties in Kilteevan last night

I would hope Cunningham builds our forward line around Ciaran Lennon next year. He's the best player in the county at the moment without a doubt. Bewildering how he hasn't played more for the county in last few years.

Hi, got to see St Faithleach & Castlerea game on Sun but had to leave early so missed the main event, no one player stood out in this game, Castlerea looked very average and St Faithleach fell asleep for 20 min in second half allowing Castlerea to score 1-5 without reply, C Lennon is on form at the moment, I would like to see him number 14 for Ros Seniors.

I thought D Murtagh and
Rooney were excellent for Faithleachs

Bewildering or just plain stupid. He hasn't been given a chance at County level.

Ciaran Murtagh was excellent also, huge work rate and created a number of Faithleachs scores. Have seen Castlerea a few times this year now and Jon Hester has impressed me each game, in his short career at club and county he's played as a defender, midfielder and forward.

Doms prediction based on? Didn't the two draw in the group stage and one point separated the two in the knock out stages last year.

Ya Hester lad has great movement and reads the game well. His only problem is what's his best position. Has had his injury problems over the last couple of years and probably would have started for U20s if he's was fit. Hard one to call in the intermediate final

Simply a better team ..more speed up front. Faithleachs slow at the rear . Can see Doms going for the jugular early doors ..Just reckon they've a better balance about.them this year .

Junior Semi Finals -

St Dominics Vs St Brigids
Dominics going well with a good win against Roscommon Gaels in the last round but i do believe that Brigids are the form team in the Junior Championship and the raging hot favourites to go all the way this year. Some very impressive young players on that team that should leave them with 7 or 8 points to spare against Dominics. Some very impressive footballers on the brigids team such as Derwin and Keelan Byrne. They are also very strong defensivly with David nestor and macneice. The loss of Cian kelly to the intermiediate team doesnt help their chances
Brigids +8

Padraig Pearses vs St Josephs
First off i would like to say its great to see a small club like josephs get to the latter stages of the championship. When these two sides met in the opening round of the championship there was very little between them with 2 points separating the teams. Two very different semi finals with pearses slow to get going and the Joes coming out like a house on fire but fading away as the game progressed. Pearses will be relying on Sean Fahy to to must of the scoring with the loss of Eoin Colleran to the senior team, Declan kenny had a huge semi final and will take marking on sunday. But josephs have a great chance lead by captain johnny mannion and with the trio of egan, mark gilleran and brian dolan they wont be too far away. Going to to be an interesting one but going to give it to my home club by the narrowest.

Surprised to see Enda Nugent is not staying on as Minor Manager. We had a fine minor season beating Mayo and Galway( never easy) and poor Connacht Council scheduling caught up with us against a good Sligo team . I would like to have seen Enda Nugent there again next year. I wonder who is his likely replacement.

Junior Semi Finals -

St Dominics Vs St Brigids
I'd have to agree with you here, Brigids are the big favourites in this one. Dominics have played some good football but were sloppy when push came to shove against the Joes. They will battle hard and not make it is for Birigids, so I won't go with a 8 point win, I think maybe 3 or 4.

Padraig Pearses vs St Josephs
For a team who nearly folded a few years ago, the Joes have been a breath of fresh air. They've had some sticky moments but have shown resilience to get this far and I am delighted for them. Their heads could easily have dropped having played quite well but losing the first game v Saturday's opponents but they took their wounded hearts out on a poor Elphin team and had a great local battle with the Doms, 5 points down at half time and turned it around to finish 2nd in the group. Some great football I'm led to believe they played in the first half v Kilglass but I don't know was it nerves or what that led them to having only 2 shots in the second half. But look they're in the semis now for the first time ever. (When they won it in 2003, there was no County SF, they won mid south and played winners of north in county final). Hopefully they can play with some freedom and give Pearses another good game like in the group stages.
Pearses dug deep as well when they needed to v Michaels and got the win, but Eoin Colleran will be a big difference from when these two sides met before, scoring 1-7 I believe that day. If the Joes can build on their 2nd half v Doms and 1st half v Kilglass I think they're in with a great chance of getting to the final. But I think I'll give to Pearses in Extra Time by a couple of points.

Didn't Pearses beat them AET in the QF last year?

A good effort by St Dominics this afternoon a point ahead with only a few minutes to play and a possible shock on the shock but Brigids with a strong finish with 1-3 without reply puts them into another Junior A final.

All too easy for Pearses in the 2nd Junior A semi finals in a contest that was basically over on 23 minutes when they led by 11 points.

2nd season in a row to have the Junior A final contested by two B sides. Not sure how Josephs can pick themselves up for the Connacht campaign after that today but I hope they do and give a decent account of themselves.

A case of what could go wrong did go wrong. We had a easier day than we thought. Not to take away from our victory where James Kelly and Declan Kenny we're flying we won the midfield battle. Joes were let down by there goalkeeper before the game who did not play gone to a stag according to their supporters and then mickey egan got a stupid red card after 20 mins one think I will say is they never lay down they fought right to the end. Captain Johnny Mannion their stand out performer. I really felt for their stand in keeper who threw 3 goals in. If they had their full team they would have been close. Now we look forward to a double county final for senior and junior great few weeks ahead

Congrats to Athleague on retaining the county hurling title. Tremane certainly took the game to them especially the excellent Niall Kilroy with a personal tally of 0-12 and lead by a point at half time but Athleague really stepped up 2nd half whereby their experience of playing in the last 3 final shone through.

Be interesting to see how they fare in Connacht championship now.

Is it time to revamp the Junior championship? It looks like the second teams are getting stronger each year. Splitting it into 2 groups, with first teams on one side and second teams on the other. With the top 2 teams going into the semi final. Might give the first teams a better chance. Just throwing it out there as there will be 6 first teams in junior next year.

Looking forward to this weekends intermediate final -

Think it will be a very close final i believe that Faithleachs have the greater fire power up front but as a whole team i think Dominics are the stronger.

I think this one could go all the way to extra time and beyond. Does anyone know if the game will be streamed?
