Congratulations to Pearses, two Connacht campaigns final and two Connacht final appearances.

Strange game both played their best football against the wind. Bench impact got Pearses over the line Emmet Kelly with two outstanding scores. Final v Knockmore in Ballina i believe which like today will be another tough challenge.

The new jersey came out this morning. Whoever designed it should never be allowed design anything again. Probably the worst jersey we have had imo. Way to much going on. What happened to keeping things simple when designing Roscommon jerseys

As bad as it is its better than the last one. That was just shocking with the blue at the bottom of the jersey.

Not great but much much better than what it has replaced.

Ya that's true but wouldn't be hard to beat that . I like more off a simple old school jerseys from years back. It might grow on us

At least its better than the last Jersey, whoever thought it was a good idea to blend blue and primrose at the bottom of the Jersey?

The official details on our league fixtures was published yesterday.

Round One: Sunday, January 30th, Roscommon v Cork, Dr. Hyde Park, 2 p.m.

Round Two: Sunday, February 6th, Meath v Roscommon, Pairc Tailteann, Navan, 2 p.m.

Round Three: Sunday, February 20th, Roscommon v Clare, Dr. Hyde Park, 2 p.m.

Round Four: Saturday, February 26th, Down v Roscommon, Pairc Esler, Newry (time to be confirmed).

Round Five: Sunday, March 13th, Roscommon v Derry, Dr. Hyde Park, 2 p.m.

Round Six: Sunday, March 20th, Offaly v Roscommon, O'Connor Park, Tullamore, 2 p.m.

Round Seven: Sunday, March 27th, Roscommon v Galway, Dr. Hyde Park, 2 p.m.

Remains to seen on the situation with player turning over and how many new faces will see game time during the league campaign.

Faithleachs, Pearses players will miss at least round 1 if they happen to win their Connacht finals.

2 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw are my predictions for Roscommon from that schedule!

Near impossible to make predictions until the strength of the team/panel Roscommon have available for selection is seen.

Cork and Meath games will become more difficult if the Murtaghs, Dalys and Murray are out due to club duties.

That would likely mean relegation.
If we win our home games we should be in with a good chance of promotion.
Div 2 is usually very tight. Often you get teams going into the last day with a chance of promotion but also of relegation.

I think the games against Cork, Clare and Offally are all winnable. Galway at the Hyde could go either way although we don't have a good record against them in the league. Of course it all depends on who's available for the first few rounds. A good start would give the team a great lift and who knows what might happen after that.

Good quality Div 1 U20 final tonight with Brigids pushed all the way by Pearses and eventually winning by 3 points 2-10 to 2-7

Strokestown beat Dominics by 2 points in the Div 2 final. Plenty on show in both finals that has put their hands up for county U20 selection in 2022.

Trials were being held over the last number of weeks

U20s mostly trials, they have a challenge lined up this week and take part in the development league in February, games against Mayo, Derry and Donegal.

The seniors have been very busy on the challenge front with a number of new players looked at. For example Colm Walsh at full back, Keith Doyle and Shane Cunnane in midfield.

Injuries to Mullooly, Stack and no Pearses players available our defence will likely be patched up for first competitive game against Sligo on Saturday. Hard to believe under the current circumstances that games are allowed to be played indoors.

Yeah backline will be down to be bare bones but a good chance to give some younger players a run as we badly need to freshen things up. Colin Walsh going to be an important player going forward and should see plenty of minutes this season you would think, I don't know who is called up and who isn't but players that should get a chance imo are Aaron Brady if he is on panel as we need to try something different .Paul McGrath definitely from Brigids is a player I would like to see feature regularly, Carey when he is back, Peter Gilhooly, Cathal Heneghan and Ciaran Lawless. Doyle and Cunnane the best 2 midfielders we have produced in a while and should rightly get a chance in an area we struggle the most. Looking forward to the game Saturday should be high scoring and a good opportunity to see some new talent. The likes of Adam McDermott, Ben O'Carroll, Daire Cregg and Paddy Gavin should be left with 20s but 4 very exciting players for next season also.

No Enda Smith, Hussey, Stack or Nolan for Saturday I see, added to the list of players we already know are unavailable, will be very much an experimental side. Anyone know what keepers are on the panel? Feel we need to try something different in this area. Walsh will get his chance which we all want to see and a good test against Sligo's Niall Murphy. Wonder are we short anyone that is playing sigerson. None the less it's hard not get that early season buzz of inter county being back and looking forward to watching the game Saturday.

Good to see some U-20's included in the squad, very good mix of experience and youth. Cunningham and selectors have a talented squad to work with so hoping we see some progress this year
