Anyone remember the time PJ started the County Final injured. He wasn't one of the 15 that lined up for parade or national anthem. Ran from the dugout as the teams lined out. Think it was 2010.

So "Star" isn't coming to Galway. Any news on any new addition to the backroom team. Could it possibly be one or more of the county finalists backroom teams?

Let's keep this forum polite, it's Salthill and Maher I feel bad for. He didn't know himself until the scans came back. Even a few lads from salthill had different stories, nobody here is his personal physio. Like I said before , it's a big shame and a huge loss that a footballer of his talent won't be able to play the county final. These are big days, they don't come around too often, and even as a Moycullen supporter, you'd really have to feel for him. No footballer worth there salt doesn't want to line up for their own club come county final day. Hope he makes a good recovery. He's one of our best in the maroon and white.

Donaghy gone in with Kerry. So that's not happening. Still no replacement for Divilly announced.

So with the announcement of Kieran Donaghy going into the Kerry set up means he won't be joining Galway's back room team, has this remained the same or any word on any new faces in there, who will replace divlly there has been no real update on anything, rumour that Finian Hanly was asked in to the fold and maybe another big club manager also??

Absolutely regardless of result he would be my choice to captain Galway next year.

It was reported that there would be no big-name addition, and that it could involve a coach at the club level.

Looking forward to the finals this weekend. I just can't see past Moycullen in the Senior, they've been the team to beat all summer and the Salthill-Knocknacarra collapse was very worrying, but for the call with the breech, they were gone. I liked the look of An Spidéal in the semi final versus St Brendan's and Caltra struggled for long periods against Corofin B coupled with the loss of Shaun Keane and possibly Rian Ryan at fullback with a hammer injury that kept him out of the semi final. I think Cárna/Caiseal may have enough to overcome Baile Liam.

Shaping like a 6-in-a-row for Kerry now, and Jack O'Connor for President in 2032.

It's not just numbers, serious work being put in by the likes of Derek Cullinane, Tim Rabbitte, Sean Og de Paor, Paul Pender, Gerry Fahy and many others at the football, not familiar with the hurling side. Will be interesting to see in the next 5 years if they can kick on at adult level."
It will be the 2nd fully floodlit 4G pitch in Galway.

21.99 to stream the county final when it's 22 euro for general admission is an absolute joke

Deserved 5 point half time lead for Moycullen. Could be more ahead as the wide count was 7-1 in favour of Moycullen.

Replying To Yvrjd:  "Well said. Every year it's the same line, Claregalway are coming, it's only a matter of time. And every year they flop at senior. Underage medals mean nothing when they meet men. They can't handle real physical football. They've been a "coming team" for eight years and still haven't done a thing. Too small, too soft, and it shows every time the pressure comes on. Salthill are a big physical team, like Corofin, Moycullen and the rest of the top teams. In senior football you need at least half your team to be big, physical men, and Claregalway don't have that. They're still relying on the small silky footballer, which may work at underage, but when a 19 year old meets a seasoned 29 year old it's a different story. This could be Salthill's year, but I don't think so, Moycullen will take them again in the final."
And they did take them again in the final. Too much hype around Salthill-Knocknacarra before this final. Moycullen went about their business quietly this year, always a dangerous sign. A few Galway "county" lads on show tonight are nowhere near county standard. Well done Moycullen.

Well done Moycullen, Salthill flatter to decieve again, Mahers broken ankle was costly, Moycullen benefited from that as they did with Tuam missing their big players in the semi.
You need a little luck I suppose

So much hype about this Salthill team yet again they fail to deliver, the media have them built up so much yes they have loads of county experience but again some of them failed to deliver apart from Thomson and rob, they will have to go to the market again for another keeper, people give out about the sizes of areas and parishes the catchment area here is ridiculous and still only have 3 titles to their name, can moycullen now go on a run for a Connacht title easy path to the final,

I presume you are referring to Tomo as I thought most the county players were excellent Thompson and Kelly in particular

Best I've seen Kelly look in a few years and hopefully Cooke is involved with Galway next year it was silly by Moycullen not to start him

Moycullen were the better team and some record of 3 co titles since 2020 and competing in another 2 finals. Godlen crop who have delivered for them. Their big guns stepped up Sean Kelly, Cooke, Dessie. I thought Moycullen were deserving winners but Salthill had their chance 1 up with 10 to go but again lacked the mentality & quality to finish and win it. Thompson & Finnerty while not brilliant showed why IC footballers as opoossed too O Flaherty & Culhane and Sweeney. All the talk of O Flaherty and his failings showed by Kelly after 40 seconds cant defend. Maher obviously a huge loss for them. How good can Thompson be still only about 22 showed real leadership to get SK in it. Tomo was never going to kick those frees and then Dessie slots a 2 pointer off the deck. Credit to Moycullen mgmt in getting Cooke on early when with wind thought it was very strange not to start it but alot of mgmt teams would have waited til HT. That will hurt SK again all the hype and still no title since 2012. Great tribute to Don & O Mahony and great occasion under the lights. SK should move heaven aand earth to get Currid from Moycullen for the psychology & believe.
