Replying To cavan.galway:  "the same players who always score from play"
Think match v Armagh 4 Galway players scored from play o flaherty corner back conroy midfield o Laoi and o curraine in forwards might have missed someone

Replying To Belclare7:  "Your understanding is incorrect my friend..
He was not amongst the subs, is training but mostly recovery and fitness work.
From my understanding he won't be risked in certain situations, one being the terrible surface in the stadium last week."
Apologies yes, I worded that incorrectly. He was amongst the substitutes in Pearse the other evening but not togged, along with the rest of the extended panel.

Replying To Drax_the_destroyer:  "Mayo losted to a patched up Dublin team. Galway will have to perform worse than they did against Armagh not to win. Do a decent marking job on Ryan O'Donoghue and you are 70% there to beating them."
You could argue Mayo missing more players, apart from O'Callaghan& Cluxton who do Dublin have to come back?

Fenton, McCarthy, Mannion and McCaffrey all gone. Looks unlikely John Small will be back and did Mick Fitz retire? I can't recall

I hope we mind Kelly, Walsh and Comer this year. Heavy pitches are notoriously bad for dodgy hammers. Also a huge percentage of hammer injuries happen when players are fatigued. When starting the above lads we should be taking them off early even if they are going well.

Especially Comer, the other reason being we need to develop a plan for when we are without him. So giving COC and others opportunities will be great in the long term.

Quietly confident with this squad. We have a lot of talent, but we do need more scorers.

Back in the land of the living

Even with win quite downbeat with performance particularly first half.

No pace or drive to beat a man and not a lot in FF line.

Disappointing see McLaughlin hobble out of warm up.

Mcdaid had a real off day wasn't as impressed with olaoi as others

I'd play mcdaid again this weekend as had words with Joyce and wasn't impressed with been taken off so will have point to prove

Tierney again let game drift by and can't judge O'Neill out of position

Thought oflaherty Fitzgerald excellent and Maher had a mighty cameo

Go hard for next weekend and try win this league and get monkey off our back losing finals in croker

What is story with availability of comer finnerty tomo?

We'll have to improve significantly for the Mayo match in Castlebar. They will bust a gut to beat us and feel they can't go 0 from 2. Rob Hennelly summed it up on Midwest's coverage of their Dublin loss. He stated that Mayo are targeting the Galway match. He also said that Mayo team and mgmt believe Galway are much easier to turnover in play than Dublin, and that they'll beat us with turnovers and quick counter attacks. He added that their high press on our kickouts will force lots of mistakes. So there ye go lads, don't say ye weren't forewarned. Now let's go up there and put them back in their box. The truth is, they loathe us, so let the feeling be mutual!! Bring fire!!!
