There's always going to be some players playing in other clubs when they are near the boundary, it'll always happen, happens in every club. There's loads of tiny roads and town lands that have connections to the neighboring parish. Guaranteed you can go to every club in Ireland and find a player on the border that should be playing with the neighbor. You're really pulling at strings here.

Yes I agree totally as regards players playing with "other" clubs but it only becomes an issue for a tiny minority of clubs. Why so.

I understand your original message now. Ya it's used as a dig at clubs that some people feel are doing unfairly well.

Why as you say yourself," it'll always happen, happens in every club." is it only unfair for some and only if they are deemed to be successful?

It happens to a much greater extent in some clubs, so that's your answer as to why. Nobody bats an eyelid when it's a player here of there. When it's one third of the starting team, people do take notice.
Also the situation of a lad who's played for the club since he was a child, is very different to that of an intercounty player moving to Galway city and playing for a club that's not in the city.

Why doesn't this apply to all non city clubs?

I don't know what the rule is these days but in the past if you were transferring to a club in another county (because you were living in that county) you didn't have to be living in the catchment area for that club. You could play with any club in that county.
This may not be the rule anymore though I'm not sure

Maybe an unwritten rule but definitely never was a proper rule

Super win for Leitir Mor in the stadium with there never say die attitude. They were the better team. Very impressed with there goalie. Should be checked out by PJ.

Alarm bells ringing loud and clear in Carlstrande. Look destined for the drop

Does nt matter who is in goal or any other position, we blew our chance to win all ireland.we won't be anywhere near final next year.

I know that's the way the game has gone but awful spectacle watching Moycullen and St.James even though both teams were through they didn't try anything new just made sure not to lose. Serious stuff by Lettermore , great result today considering 2 red cards and ref and linesmen against them and the amount of players they were missing they don't seem to be wanting to make up the numbers anymore wouldn't fancy being against them in the prelim. Was in today and watched them before our own lads game against corofin when they played Caherlistrane and their goalkeeper , no 7, no 9 no 11 and 14 are good players worth keeping an eye on them they won't make anything easy

LM flying flag for Connemara and more power to them gray to see attitude and guts. Caherlistrane look dead & buried. Moycullen going very nicely & Cooke back now. Salthill look powerful but I would worry about them again when it comes to the crunch in a tight game against Moycullen or Corofin. They have never got over the line. Big day of football again today in senior & inter. Still not convinced about 3 of 4 going through. MM for example beat a woeful caherlistrane team and get through. Would prefer same set up as Mayo top get home QF against 2nd team and 3rd sage with 4th into relegation. Most clubs would have an adequate pitch for home QFs.

Enjoyable game with lots of drama. Lettermore deserving winners. Played most of second half 13 v 14. although I would say Mountbellew would have preferred to play with balanced numbers and john daly on field than play with a man advantage and without him, especially on a day like yesterday.. Strange sending offs and I would expect the reds to be overturned on appeal. I wonder do we need to be a bit more carefull about selecting refs from clubs who are potential competitors in the next round. Not suggesting that this had anything to do with the reds but we should try to minimise any unnecessary speculation.

Dual clubs will be out Thursday night and if both clubs are drawn together not involved in hurling they will be out at the weekend Saturday/Sunday,

Mad weekend of football. Great entertainment. Letir beating MM. Oughterard beating Claregalway and putting them into relegation. Dunmore just doing enough to get over Monivea. Barna beating Milltown only for them to go into relegation and Milltown take 2nd spot despite only winning one game. Peter Cooke back for Moycullen. 2nd half implosion by Corofin and the stars could and should have won.
Going to be a great few days with the preliminary's on Thursday and Saturday.
