Possible I suppose but I doubt it. Rossies have too much firepower for them, I'd be thinking.

Replying To FatLadySinging:  "We are the poor relations while we are in Div. 2. The main attention and focus of RTE television coverage is quite rightly on Div.1. It is like the Premiership versus the Championship in England. When we rejoin Div.1 then we can expect our matches to command more TV coverage. Onwards and upwards Galway."
I'd agree regarding Div 1 coverage vs Div 2, but RTE have actually covered a number of Division 2 games in a bit depth on League Sunday. They just haven't shown any of games involving Galway.
To be honest, I don't mind. The less coverage the better for now. If we start to make an impression this year, there will be plenty coverage.

Is Patrick Kelly injured? Thought he did well earlier in the season when he got a run. He's also a big man so offers another kickout option. He hasn't made a squad in recent weeks.

Don't know but I agree. He looked a good decent up front. Pace and size, could drift out for the long kick out option if needed.

*I know Dessie got a good score against Clare when he came on but not sure if he is up to it. I think when u are that size u have to be exceptional, and while he is good he is not good enough to make up for his lack of physicality
*Don't think Eoin Finnerty is either. To be fair he hasn't had a huge chance but doesn't look to have the pace.
*Dylan Canny looks more promising as he seems to have the mix of size and pace required.

Good to see Fitzgerald back in the squad last week. Would have liked to see him tested in League so now might be as good a time as any to throw him in. No pint waiting for Mayo. With McDaid back as well that adds a good bit of power to the squad.

Hopefully our injuries clear up. Sean Kelly and Shane are hugely important to be fully firing for Mayo game.

Whats the story with James McGlaughlin? He was at the game on Sunday. Is he injured or just in there for development. I know he is very young but he's a fine player

McLoughlin didn't play for the u20s either in the John Kerins Cup so I imagine he must be injured.

This fortnight will test Joyce s metal.
Does he trust his panel to deliver without Shane and give him a complete rest to freshen him up for the mayo match or does he force him to play/impact sub?

Will he be strong enough to jeopardise the foregoing of the league and promotion to have him primed for the mayo game?

Had hoped we would have seen a bit more of McLaughlin by now in a Galway senior jersey but he seems to pick up these injuries at just the wrong time. Think he came off the bench for the last 15 minutes against Roscommon in the FBD and caught one long kickout and made one surging run that led to Fitzgerald's goal in that game. Still plenty of time for him given his age.

I don't see too many changes, apart from starting Sean Kelly.
Walsh definitely needs a rest but PJ will play him.. He cannot afford to lose this game or promotion will become extremely difficult. And make no mistake If this Manager fails to get promotion this year he needs to be replaced."
Why don't you read his post properly before u criticise it

Shane McGuigan Derrys top scorer with 1-30 in this league campaign has been handed a one match suspension. A major boost to Galways chances to secure promotion back to Division 1 this Sunday.

Shane Walsh the best player in the division may be out, a bigger loss to Galway.

Galway won their last two games without Walsh scoring. I had Galway down to win on Sunday narrowly, now with this Shane McGuigan news (Derry are toothless up front without him) Galway should be comfortable winners.

What did he do to get a suspension.? 2 dubious yellow cards

Shane Walsh gets double marked because of his skills, that opened up opportunities for other players and Comer in particular. The Offaly centre back did a brilliant job on him in Salthill, he was of colour the last day in Tuam but Shane Walsh remains the best player in the division and in my opinion Connacht and in the top 10 in the country. McGuigan a long way from that.

Verbal abuse at the linesman (David Gough) when he walked off the field.

GDL argument put to bed with Shane Walsh named to start.

Delighted to see Walsh and Sean Kelly both in squad. Presumable that means they are injury free which is vital for us.

Going to make the long trip tomorrow. It will tell us a story I think. Think it was 98 we won away in Armagh for the first time in a million years (might be slightly out). This game has a similar feel about it.

We have some top quality and some huge potential but potential has to be realised and we in Galway are more aware of that than most. Games like this bind squad more than any amount of training sessions.

Best of luck

Hopefully Galway play much better than they have in last 2 games otherwise Derry should win by 3-4 points I'd imagine Sean Kelly might start 2 morrow only my thoughts ,

24 hours away from Galway securing promotion back to Division 1 with a game to spare.

So far have beaten Meath by 11,Down by 6,Offaly by 4 (they scored a retaken penalty with the last kick of the game) Cork by 8 and Clare by 6

Derry a step up to what Galway have faced thus far however with no Shane McGuigan there is no real excuse why Galway can't win by a point or two especially when playing from a full hand and likely line up that will play against Mayo next month.

We have had more than 20 years with "some huge potential" but we have never seen it realized during that time. I know a lot of people are hopeful about this year but there has been too many disappointment and infamous 1 point defeats to average enough teams in the championship during that time to build up too much hope I'm afraid.
