Agree.. It's plain as day Galway Bay fm is " jobs for the boys" if you take sport out of it , it's failing miserably. Just looking at the latest JNLR figures , it's rates second bottom in the country. Mid West is years ahead in general , and in fairness they now have done away with Martin Carney as Co com and freshing it up.. George Mc Donagh has the expertise of a fella sitting on a high stool all day waffling. John Mulligan fluttering away back in studio taking commercial breaks every 2 mins when he loses script.... Ollie has been covered above..... Belclare (Galway) - Posts: 827 - 02/03/2023 13:44:26 2461402 Link 1 |

I'd have a bigger issue with his overreaction to players mistakes. He crucifies players for things and then if you speak to someone who was at the game they have zero clue of the "incident" you are talking about. He also massively favours some players fine but he dislikes players too. I remember listening to him a few years ago when a substitute was being made and honestly the way he spoke about the player was out of line when he hadn't touched a ball to deserve any criticism. Frank Morris happened to be his Co commentator and they are world's apart. Morris is heavily involved in his club but he gives such an unbiased viewpoint its absolutely fantastic. No sugarcoating just factual commentary. Remember tuam v corofin that went to a replay a few years back . Same thing Morris unbiased . Turner wondering why Tuam even bothered turning up. Galway bay removed the commentary from their website a day or 2 later so they knew there was an issue There's my rant of the day galwayfball (Galway) - Posts: 1657 - 03/03/2023 14:12:27 2461596 Link 3 |
Joyce said he'd be back for the final few league games. If back already it will be training than involved against Monaghan i can imagine.

Looking like another close one this weekend definitely need win this one , I think If they win this they be safe if loose prob go down ,, they will prob need 1-12 or around that to win , Need Finnerty to start ,this one if Matthew Tierney is held hard see where scores come from full forward line no threat at all ,need change goalie as well if not in my opinion we loose this one Kickitout (Galway) - Posts: 685 - 03/03/2023 15:58:19 2461636 Link 0 |
After this buildup, seeing Walsh in Pearse Stadium on Sunday will be as exciting as seeing Patrick Mahomes. Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 2811 - 03/03/2023 17:17:35 2461656 Link 0 |
This is a game Pj has targeted, and will have the players well tuned in. If Walsh is back, then he may get a run out with 20 mins. to go, but no more. At that stage, I expect Galway will be well on top. Some people being accused of being negative, but I feel they are anxious to see improvement from last year. I feel there is some.. Eoghan Kelly looks very competent at corner back, and may after a few games be a serious option at full-back. Tbh, Sean Kelly gives me the jitters at times. He has a very ungainly/languid stride, so will easily be turned by pacey skillful forwards. Probably middle eight would suit him better where he could push forward, when options present. Young Glynn is very tenacious and reliable playing out from defence. I've said it before, any team with AI ambitions needs to have a scoring half-back line. With the possession game, they now get forward a lot, and are not usually challenged until they hit the opponents 45. So, it makes sense to take on those scoring opportunities. Compared to half-forwards who are tracked relentlessly. There is no reason we can't have scoring half-backs, midfielders and forwards. If Walsh is back training I could see him getting the number 23 jersey, to be used in case of emergency. jam83 (Galway) - Posts: 55 - 03/03/2023 18:57:49 2461668 Link 0 |

Galway naming a team without publishing the subs only adds to speculation that Shane Walsh might be involved. Yondu (UK) - Posts: 802 - 03/03/2023 21:20:19 2461690 Link 1 |
Team named. Davoren and Patrick Kelly out, Johnny Mcgrath and Finnerty in. No subs named yet for some reason Mayonman (Galway) - Posts: 1758 - 03/03/2023 21:22:42 2461691 Link 0 |

Shane's obviously going to be named on the bench. I don't really see the need for the secrecy with it We know soMonaghan know and as fantastic as he is. He is one person galwayfball (Galway) - Posts: 1657 - 04/03/2023 13:36:16 2461753 Link 0 |
