No horses on a Friday night.
Today it was packed with horses yet Tynagh-Abbey/Duniry v Padraig Pearses and Killnadeemena-Leitrim v Ardrahan went ahead.

Well it wasn't the weather which was fine yesterday. Pitch looked great today so it wasn't the pitch either. it was packed yesterday early in the evening and it was hard to find parking today also.

It was called off yesterday because the pitch was unplayable according to the Co.Board, but its going ahead tomorrow with Clarinbridge home venue.

Two proud hurling clubs and both All Ireland Champions in their day, Beagh 7's , some great young talent coming through for both teams.

You were right about Portumna. A bunch of my Beagh friends were at the match.

to mention Kilconeiron, great progress for them. After a walloping from OranMaree in the 2018 intermediate final to then robbery from Kinvara in 2019, to then reach a third intermediate final in a row only to be pushed back almost 6 months with Covid to then winning it AND now promoted to senior A and what looks like a winnable match to put them in the last 8 of senior championship. outstanding

Kilnadeema letrim v Turloughmore.... Turloughmore

Gort v portuma...... Gort

Kilconieron v Pádraig Pearses...... Kilconieron

Loughrea V Clarinbridge..... Loughrea(definitely game of the weekend if both teams play to their potential)

Thomas's definitely will be in the final. Can't write off cappy either. I think they can go that step futher this year. Nearly caught Thomas's the last day.
I do like the look of craughwell this year. Playing well and are a hard team to beat. They definitely are well capable of getting to a final too.

But still Thomas's are the favourites cappy are the dark horses and other two teams to qualify for the semis( thats if they don't meet in the quarter finals)
Loughrea and craughwell.

Yes, but when you look at their Senior Group this year.....Beagh, Portumna and Ballindeeren would all be Relegation strugglers but the fact all 3 were in the same group as Kilconerion gave them a great chance.
Again P.Pearses who they play next would also be Relegation strugglers. As the saying goes "it's easy play well against bad teams"
I fear they will get absolutely hammered by one of the top teams in the Quarter Finals because ever Club will be looking to draw Kilconerion out of the hat!

What robbery was this that you speak of?

What nonsense, you can only play the teams youre drawn against.

There must be a lot of potential 'relegation strugglers' in your world.

a lot of ifs a buts in there, mentally going up and playing any of those teams in their group was half the battle. Look at Kinvara going up and straight down not winning a game including 2 teams Kilconieron defeated this year!

Hard to call the two winners of Senior & Inter this year. A lot of teams of a similar level.

My predictions:

Senior Champs: St Thomas'
Dark Horses: Tommy Larkins
Relegated: Mullagh

Inter Champs: Eyrecourt
Dark Horses: Killimor
Relegated: Spideal

Always a different kettle of fish in KO stages but the form of the groups so far suggest there wont be much between a lot of sides in the KO's.
