Well done to Gorey CS. What an achievement and one of the best first half displays I have seen. I genuinely believe they'd beat good few of the A schools. Great team to watch too. Quite emotional watching it.

Jack Higgins was outstanding. His pace is electric. Two corner-backs, Conor Kelly and Ruari Martin, were excellent too. Michael McGonigle and Dylan Cooke Leonard did untold work on either wing. But it was the sort of performance where you couldn't fault anyone.

Eight of last year's minors on the starting fifteen too, which shows the district bias allegations were nonsense.

The future is bright, and having three A schoold next year can only be a good thing. I do hope they are competitive as this group was definitely a golden generation.

One more thing, Carrickmacross' lack of discipline at the end was disgraceful. After one of the mentors was giving impertince on the sideline, Higgins' got a dirty tackle that sparked a row and they ended up with thirteen men- they let their school down. Wouldn't be the first time it happened with a northern team.

Nail on head there beano, very poor discipline from Carrickmacross, not helped by an indecisive referee. The players you mentioned were excellent, Hughes was v good too but a brilliant team performance.

Good to grind out a win given the circumstances, but to be frank we should have been far more comfortable. Tipp beating Cavan shakes things up a bit, and while we have a glimmer of hope again to sneak back into contention, Leitrim away will be a tough nut to crack.

KOG looks back in form and has been our stand-out attacker two games in a row now. Dylan Furlong done well too and Regan was lively off thr bench if a bit raw, and its great to keep a clean sheet after our leaky display vs. Tipp. So many basic errors from both sides though which perhaps illustrates where we are in the pecking order.

are we trying to play a two complex game? the style they play u need to be very good at it , our handling , speed of passing ,support it not up to it [yet] i said exactly this after one of the byrne cup games, that if we perfect it they would get out of the div but after 8 [?] games its not much better, the ammount of stray passes today was shocking, several times passing or kicking the ball straight to a waterford man, having said due respect to them for how the play, they attack whenever they can, no piling lads behind the ball

For me, it's when things begin to go against them
this group seem to panic a little.
Looking at the match programme Waterford have won twice down in wex park over the last couple
of years and i think a championship game a couple of years back so no guarantee of a win today.
On the game, Mark Rossiter was very accurate, Liam Coleman was excellent and I thought Carty and Regan brought good energy when they came on.

Was surprised and saddened to see Waterford manager taking off his goalkeeper after 15 minutes, I felt sorry for him, blaming him for Waterford not winning kickouts, terrible decision in my opinion

Yeah Waterford had won on their last 3 visits to Wexford Park but that's just a sign of where we are at the moment, taught KOG and Dylan Furlong were 2 standouts for me, Porter made some vital turnovers in the 2nd half while Regan looks to have something about him alright, he impressed me when the u20s played Offaly last year too.

We looked a bit jittery at times yesterday. Gave the ball away too often. R0eally couldn't get a grip on the game. We are winning and losing by small margins except in the Cavan match where we lost by 6 points i think. I was hoping that they would come good in this game and win with something to spare. In fairness to Waterford they gave as good as they got and maybe deserved a draw. Best for Wexford were, Liam o'connor,Martin o'connor, Furlong, Coleman, O' Grady and Rossiter. I would be a little worried about our trip to Carrick on Shannon but if we can iron out some of the problems that surfaced yesterday we could come away with both points.

very disappointed with the u 20s last night v carlow, expected more with the players we had out, granted the starting team was a long way from full strenght, we played some lovely football till it came to scoring, old wexford fault lact of natural scoring forwards, countless times forwards were in a scoring position but would not shoot, passing it on to another lad , they ,like a lot of wexford footballers, seem to lack confidence in front of goal,

Was at the game yesterday, another game lost that should have been won, to my eye Wexford were the better team. Basic problem is an an inability to have the scoreboard reflect the possession. We had loads of the ball but there is no great threat from the forward line at all. Midfield and half back line were good, Martin O Connor was the stand out performer, would make most county teams. We look good when there is room for the likes of o connor, malone and furlong to make forward runs, first half the forward line was totally congested.

Travelled to the game yesterday also. Agree O Connor was very good. But in general it was a poor game . Forward play is all individual and little link up play. Leitrim did get a couple of very soft goals at crucial times. We are at a stand still in regards real progress and our worst league campaign in last 20 years looks our lot
