Wexford forum was always very busy" This is definitely the case. I commented that when they did this. Here used to be the first port of call for many after games, but losing the forums, keeping with a prehistoric board layout and all that has seen us lose many posters.

Would love the Dublin hurling board to be as busy but that is life.

As I said a page or two back (a year or two ago), if the admin staff found it necessary to restrict the amount of county forums for whatever, that's one thing, but hiding/deleting them completely so that all that mountain of information and discussion was gone was extremely poor judgement.

The users of the forum have more to do with what it is and what it wants to be than the administrators. I enjoyed the many good conversationliosts and knowledgable people. Which in fairness were in the majority. Then there were the trolls who's only interest was watching your every post to insult and attack. There are those who's only interest is high lighting the traditional counties in a way that no one else should be considered as contenders. I don't blame anyone for supporting their team but as Justin McCarthy once said, the scourge of the GAA and holding it back is traditionalism. Coming from a man among one of the elite counties. Personally I prefer to describe my county or any other county as just not being good enough when unsuccessful. Rather than traditional card.

The moderators were doing their part by preventing inter county interaction by shutting down the national forum just like the HSE did with the 5 mile travel restriction. There was no concern that Cavan and Meath people interact cause they are not our equal….and we don't engage unless we want the bill. Hence the two forums were left open.
This Killingfields was an attempt at subtle wit and a degree of sarcasm.

That last post of mine, I regret posting it, I posted without thinking. I have been posting here on HS a lot of years always and only in the interest of fairness and the weaker counties with honesty, in particular my own beloved Carlow even though for a long long time I have lived outside my county and am settled in another province.
Any poster from a so-called weaker county is never in with a realistic chance of winning a legit argument or debating a realistic issue with anyone posting on behalf of an Elite County , fact.
Anonymity.
We all post here on HS using Anonymity as a defensive mechanism, because of that we can choose whether to accept. Ignore or reply to another person's post. Yet the same number of posters (collectively) can decide the fate of another (singular) poster using the old-fashioned style of rebuff. I have seen shocking posts here been greeted with multiple positive replies and green thumbs, whereas posters like me and a couple of others who normally will put every ounce of energy into making every post accurate, honest, sometimes sarcastic / entertaining, etc, etc. Are conveniently dismissed. I prolonged the persistence of posting when and where applicable to the conclusion I would recognize when the penny dropped, as in like now. If any of my posts have offended anyone, they were anything but intentional.
Admin, will no doubt see this post of mine, so in that I ask them to delete my username, "supersub15" and all relevant info including my password if it is hanging loose in cyber space.

Slan." Sir, genuine posters like yourself have a valued opinion on our national sport. While we all don't see the same 'game' or have the same ethos on how it's played, we all start out in the nursery and learn our heritage through our clubs. We share the same history and contribute our shared love of our sport. Our aspirations are the same regardless of past success. Our volunteers go out week after week keeping what is essentially our community' bond. I sincerely hope that your input on this forum is not mixed up with the keyboard trolls that plague genuine debate. Your clubs and county players put in the same commitment and effort as every other county and your passion and love of your county is the same for every Gael.

Ok so there are plenty posters from bigger football counties than ours, but you are hurling in the top tier this year and nobody's hurling any higher than that. Doesn't matter where you are from to have a bit of craic on this forum anyway.

Looking for traditional counties in hurling and football, so I go all the way back to 2000. Football elite county is Dublin with Kerry nearest challenger. Mayo have lost the most finals. In hurling, the traditional and most successful counties are Kilkenny and Limerick! Monopoly really with none of the weaker counties doing much, in fact only about 8 counties in total.

Especially if both are near the top. This talk of Tipp v Kilkenny etc. In the seventies Wexford and Kilkenny battled each other and among the best I,ve watched. For us around at the time Waterford and Kilkenny in the fifties and sixties. More reason in the Dan and Ken era Cork and ourselves. Galway when strong with Kilkenny and so. What really irks me is when a Kilkenny, Tipp, Cork final is introduced by commentators as nothing like a traditional final and no other could match it. Limerick are going for five and already have five out of six. What are they ? In my opinion already they are equal to the greatest team ever and if they get it will deserve that mantle. One of the great eras of hurling was the years 1994-98 when " non traditional" counties won the All Ireland.
