True. They need to prove they are the person on the certificate. They'd have to setup some style of online checkin with ticket, ID and COVID cert verified before they land at Croke Park. Messy enough alright.

There have been issues at a lot of Premiership games with the new checks due to Covid, it theory should not be an issue but everyones tickets are now on the phones and scanning is taking longer. Rosineri1 (UK) - Posts: 2099 - 26/08/2021 16:22:23 2375018 Link 1 |
Vaccination doesn't stop spread, so what's the reasoning for not letting unvaccinated attend? joeteor (Donegal) - Posts: 218 - 26/08/2021 16:24:56 2375019 Link 4 |
100% correct mask wearing at has matches is very poor I was the only one at a club match recently wearing a mask. The all Ireland was a joke I would say nearly 1 percent was wearing them. Then seeing managers throwing the same bottle of water to different players. Vaccines are only a tool for us in the fight against covid it will not eradicate it. Masks are not going away any time soon and I agree with this. People just want to look after their own self interest and to hell with everyone else.

Look, the people who done their bit to try and protect themselves, their families and the people around them and who want society to return to some form of normality should be given priority over wackos and nut jobs who educate themselves on Facebook and TikTok.

+ 1 The restrictions were to give time for a vaccine to be found which it has been. Considering Covid is now in every country in the world, it's here to stay. So with the vaccines now produced it is time to open up as close to normal as possible. If not now, then when? tyroneed (Tyrone) - Posts: 753 - 26/08/2021 16:57:11 2375024 Link 0 |
Somebody getting vaccinated doesn't protect people around them, because you can still catch and spread it just as before. Not that I want to derail the thread and I'm not anti vaccination, I have my double jab. Some of it doesn't make sense to me is all, seems like vaccines are being incorrectly associated with the stop of spread.

Yes people only hear what they want to hear. Vaccine is only one of the tools to fight this. It is not magic.

With the Delta variant, an asymptomatic person can still transmit infection to others, sure. However, it's not quite as much, and you will be infectious for a shorter period. essmac (Tyrone) - Posts: 1141 - 26/08/2021 19:01:14 2375050 Link 3 |
Social distancing, wear a mask, regular hand washing, limit social contacts etc. Doing those things seems to have stopped the regular flu and colds outbreaks it seems or at least has severely curtailed them.

Just time and patience. Mask wearing , testing hopefully new medicine I would say. But this is the new normal and can't see being back to normal for at least 2 years if we ever are. I hope I'm wrong!

calling people who arent vaccinated nut jobs is a bit out of order ...the fact remains that the vaccines were put together quickly and therfore havent undergone the same stringent clinical trials as other vaccines some people just may want to wait and see for a little longer Peadarw (Donegal) - Posts: 37 - 26/08/2021 20:56:44 2375075 Link 3 |

Typical left wing ideologue. This vaccine was rushed through by panicked leaders who wanted to reopen society quickly in order to get their economies moving again. Millions upon millions of smiling people had taken it before it even gained approval (it was approved initially under emergency legislation). If you want to label anyone a "nut" (very original btw), how about taking a pop at the journalists who refused to disclose the reason for that young footballers death (and God knows what else they've been hiding).
