Yeah, things seem to have moved on since COC was injured but for what reason? Most informed Mayo fans would have thought that wining Connacht was as good as it was going to get. Dubs haven't played yet, Mayo are a new young team with 1 midfielder, have no freetaker from outside the 35, FB line without Harrison shaky- take O Hora out also & they have real problems. AND to put it bluntly Mayo need to be 5 or 6 points better than the Dubs to win this one - the Dream Kerry Dublin final is the aim for the GAA. Let's look at the facts. Dublin have had an incredible run and sometimes it's hard to rise for a game you know you ré going to win. No Hill crowd to rise them up. I've seen Dubs get lethargic plenty of times in games but then the Hill inspire them and give them extra energy. They did nt need that yesterday. They won a Leinster final by 8 points with David Byrne getting a run around. Fenton very quiet and Con Ó Callaghan nearly asleep. Will Dubs rise for Mayo. Of course they will. The big games is when the big players rise and Con and Fenton will rise. Rock has been poor too but Costello doing well. Now people talk of Dublin's retirements. Well same for Mayo and Cillans loss to Mayo would be like Cons loss to Dublin. Mayo excellent yes but good enough to beat Dublin I'm not so sure. Mayo are only at about 55% (or maybe less) compared to when they were at there peak 2014 - 2017 also.

Did you watch the last meeting between Tyrone and Kerry not so long ago? if not.... i'd recommend you do before putting down any money on Tyrone ( no offence at all i think they have a good thing going atm )

I would be inclined to give Mayo a bit of a chance here with the way Dublin are playing and it been a semi final as opposed to a Final…. I'm with you on the likely outcome of the semi-final KB, but I think Kerry have Tyrone's number assuming they keep the pace of their semi-final high and will be closer to the Dubs than 6-8 points. I just feel Mayo are still too vulnerable to goals and while Cillian hasn't been missed in Connacht we now don't have a settled number 14. Too many ifs and buts to be confident, so I'm thinking anything better than a 6 point margin will be reasonable. Means Kerry will have to do it the hard way in the final!

If this was 2017 mayo you'd fancy them against this Dublin team. And even this current mayo team with a fit cillian O'Connor. Without him it's just hard to see mayo having the firepower up front. Mayo don't have just 1 midfielder. Duirmuid O'Connor, Aiden O'shea, ruane, and conor loftus can all play and have played there at the highest level. While coen, and mullin both played there at U-20 level. And even without O'hora you just move mulin back to full back and while it's not ideal its not disastrous. That last game has no bearing on anything. However, Kerry should have enough to get over the line. But Tyrone will have some cut at them. Tyrone love CP.

It's not Mayos fault Pericles, ye are in transision and ye are missing gaelic footballs top scorer in Cillian O'Connor, not only his scoring but his brilliant tackling as well, the dubs and the media are building ye and us all up for a fall and when dublin win the allireland this year and another 1-2 dubs retire they'll tell us all that they're coming back into the pack but they'll keep on winning. IV seen nothing that makes me confident we can beat dublin if we get over Tyrone, we played them in the league where we outscored them in 3 out of the 4 quarters and still only scrope a draw and we had a full team against a dub team missing 3-4 starters. A 16 point loss to Kerry less than a month ago cannot be dismissed so easily when discussing the upcoming game...fair enough if that game was 2-3 months ago.. but it was in the runup to Tyrone's assault on the Ulster championship which is never easy and so would have meant Tyrone would have been training hard at that stage. 'But Tyrone will have some cut at them' i hope they do! its just that statement is based on what exactly? since you are dismissing the recent meeting between the two ;P Hoping for two good semi-finals! The dubs will be hard bet on our side, no matter what people are saying about them in decline, they are still the king pins until proven otherwise. I'm sure they have another gear or two in them that they haven't been pushed to reach thus far, they always do. The spine of their team is still immense, they are still insanely fit and powerful and are well used to winning in Croker. Without Cillian spearheading the attack for us I fear our young forward line will shy away like last years final. Hopefully we get big performances from Conroy and O'Donoghue. I can't see Darren Mchale starting in at 14 again...not his natural position...i feel like if he's starting Horan will bring him to 11 and play Aidan at 14. Aidan cannot play in midfield against fenton and McCarthy, he just doesn't have the legs for them. Ruane and DOC (replacing Loftus who isn't athletic enough for this matchup) will be a good matchup in midfield. I only saw one Kerry poster mention Kerry on this thread.This thread is about Dublin v mayo and I gave my views on it without ever mentioning Kerry.I fancy Dublin to beat Mayo.Does that make me a liar or clueless.?

You make a fair point re MF - perhaps I was stretching it a bit. But despite an excellent display last Dec in the AIF Loftus isn't really an IC midfielder [ but could take the long range frees]. DOC if he finds form [Galway game should bring him on] or Coen maybe - AOS hasn't the legs. Mullen has to stay on the HBL - a move back might be disastrous in both senses! A rivalry to me is teams beating each other on a regular basis. When did Mayo win a game that really mattered against Dublin. Dublin have had NO Rivals hence 6 in a row.
