I think we'll beat Dublin. Will be a massive task needing two halves at the level or better than second half of the Galway game. With no sitting off them like the start of the second half in last year's final. Should be a cracking game of football. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 8764 - 02/08/2021 07:04:51 2366726 Link 7 |

Don't know if they will do it but this is Mayo's best chance since the lost to Kerry in Limerick. Will Dublin having been at the top for so long have the stomach for the intensity, relentless running, and hunger that Mayo will bring. Meath and Kildare ran out of steam but Mayo won't. This could be a classic. giveitlong (Galway) - Posts: 1341 - 02/08/2021 10:50:24 2366772 Link 0 |

A really difficult one to call. Dublins tackling, pressure and shape are all still very good. Their attack doesn't have the same fluency at all as years gone by, unless it comes out now against Mayo. The same piercing runs and devastating directness and support just isn't to be seen. I'll believe Dublin are in bother when they're actually beaten though. If Mayo win they'll have to take it in their stride, not get too excited and quietly prepare for Kerry (likely). Donegal_abroad (Donegal) - Posts: 1478 - 02/08/2021 10:57:02 2366776 Link 0 |

Dublin v Mayo will be like watching a different sport never mind a different game compared to Dublin v Kildare so it's foolish to try and read too much into yesterdays game. AfricanGael (UK) - Posts: 1947 - 02/08/2021 11:25:20 2366787 Link 0 |

I genuinely think Mayo will beat Dublin. I dont want them to, but I just dont see 7 in a row happening. Just feel the chasing pack have caught up and we have regressed. Hope to be wrong though. If were beaten I certainly wont be overly disappointed. Weve been on an amazing run and I dont think we will go years and years without an all Ireland like we have done, but a 2 or 3 year drought is coming. We wont win forever, and with each passing game that defeat is closer. It feels so close you can reach out and touch it now. Just my view though waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13671 - 02/08/2021 11:34:10 2366788 Link 9 |

dublin will beat Mayo by 6-8 points and then they'll beat Kerry or Tyrone by 6-8 points in the final. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 02/08/2021 11:37:20 2366789 Link 0 |

Best opportunity for Mayo in a generation to put us to the sword. Dubs probably about 55% of what they were. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4541 - 02/08/2021 11:46:29 2366795 Link 3 |

Mayo have a chance but I am surprised at the amount of people fancying them to turn Dublin over. If we had COC playing and Brendan Harrison back I would be more confident. Still a lot of unknowns for me with so many new players. But it will be a game for sure! TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 8930 - 02/08/2021 12:02:52 2366801 Link 7 |

We still have some Rolls Royces in this Dublin team. Cooper, James, Fento, Kilkenny, King Con. The spine of the team is still solid gold. It will all come down to the younger lads and whether they can step up now at the business end. They're definitely capable of it but Mayo won't recoil into a shell like Kildare. They'll come out swinging. Should be a cracker. Joxer (Dublin) - Posts: 4751 - 02/08/2021 12:09:44 2366805 Link 9 |

A loss to Mayo would be a fitting way to end this incredible run. If Cillian O'Connor was fit I'd nearly have Mayo nailed on but there could be a performance left in the Dubs. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13850 - 02/08/2021 12:41:06 2366822 Link 4 |

Mayo have a good chance of taking Dublin out , it's 50:50 I'd say , but you said Dublin don't have a hope , can't agree with you there , I do believe kerry will win the All Ireland this year and will win it handy enough , obviously hope I'm wrong.

Dublin have not set the world alight so far this year but are still coasting through games. 0-20 yesterday. Playing in 2nd gear and never once looked like loosing. Is it because they didn't fire in 4 or 5 goals that has people questioning them? yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 12267 - 02/08/2021 12:54:53 2366828 Link 10 |

The team that have come closest to beating Dublin, and the only one in fact to do so other than Donegal, since 2011 have been Mayo. That and the nature of the finals and semi finals we have seen most times they've met qualifies them as Dublin's greatest rivals of this era, Beyond doubt.
